Lee Dong Hwi is confirmed to lead the upcoming MBC K-drama Chief Inspector 1963 alongside Lee Je Hoon!
It was officially confirmed on August 16 that Lee Dong Hwi will be one of the main leads of the upcoming MBC mystery K-drama Chief Inspector 1963.
Chief Inspector 1963 will be the prequel to MBC's hit 1971 K-drama Chief Inspector. The upcoming K-drama will be set in the 1950s and 1960s. It is in the era of barbarism and it will focus on the journey of detective Park Young Han who specializes in hunting small thieves. He will work with other colleagues to fight against corrupt power and become a detective for the people.
Lee Je Hoon will play the role of Choi Bool Am's character named Chief Inspector Park Young Han.
Meanwhile, Lee Dong Hwi will play the role of Detective Kim Sang Soon. He is commonly called the "Crazy Dog" at Jongnam Police Station. He came from a poor family that only has grit and courage. After he meets Park Young Han, his life will be changed as a detective.

The upcoming K-drama Chief Inspector 1963 will premiere in 2024. According to reports, the production already started filming.
This will be the first confirmed K-drama of Lee Dong Hwi for 2024. This year, the actor starred in the hit Disney+ K-drama Big Bet Season 2 with Choi Min Shik, Son Suk Ku, Heo Sung Tae, Kim Joo Ryoung, and Kim Hong Pa.
Lee Dong Hwi will also star in the upcoming films Dr. Cheon and Lost Talisman, The Roundup: Punishment, MORA, and Method Acting.
