Lee Se Young and Bae In Hyuk Lead Difficult Lives in "The Story of Park's Marriage Contract"

MBC's upcoming Friday-Saturday drama The Story of Park's Marriage Contract dropped stills of its leads Lee Se Young and Bae In Hyuk. 

The Story of Park's Marriage Contract tells the story of two people from different timelines - Park Yeon Woo, a woman from the 19th century, and Kang Tae Ha, a man with a cold demeanor from the 21st century - entering a contract marriage. 

In the K-drama, Park Yeon Woo is the beloved and only daughter of the Minister of the Interior, and the most sought-after maiden in Hanyang (the capital city).

She secretly employs her skills to make clothes and embroidered goods and sells them under the identity of the butterfly teacher. Park Yeon Woo is a woman with a strong will and a proactive nature, who chases her dreams even in a time when it was difficult for women to pursue their desires.

In the stills, Park Yeon Woo finds herself caught up in a situation where her secret identity is at risk of being exposed. Wearing a beautiful violet hanbok, she looks down, monitoring her surroundings. 

Lee Se Young described her character, Park Yeon Woo, as a woman who is "honest about her emotions, resolute in her convictions, and adaptable". She also talked about her dedication to the role, saying, "To portray such a character well, I read the script diligently. Park Yeon Woo is a versatile character, and there was even a horseback riding scene in the drama, for which I practiced horseback riding tirelessly".

Starring alongside Lee Se Young is actor Bae In Hyuk. 

Bae In Hyuk takes on the role of Kang Tae Ha, a chaebol heir and a man who prioritizes logic over emotions.

Kang Tae Ha, due to his childhood trauma and congenital heart disease, does not easily trust people or open up to anyone. However, he slowly begins to change his ways after a peculiar woman, Park Yeon Woo, who asserts she is from the Joseon era, comes into his life.

The stills from the K-drama give a glimpse of Kang Tae Ha, exuding a cold demeanor, visiting a pop-up store as the vice president of SH Group for a project inspection.

Bae In Hyuk commented, "When I first read the script, I found the material to be new and refreshing". "I felt that I could show a different side of myself from what I had previously portrayed in my past works". 

He also commented, "Kang Tae Ha is a cool-headed and cold character, and I deeply contemplated the reasons behind his reluctance to open up to people". He went on to reveal that to portray such a cold character, he made efforts to eliminate emotion in his tone in the early stages of his preparation. 

The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract will premiere in November.
