“The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” Issues Apology after Viewers Point Out the DUI Scene
Lee Sun Kyun is officially confirmed to be the actor who is under investigation for drug charges.
On October 20, Lee Sun Kyun's agency HODU&U Entertainment released an official statement to respond to the circulating rumors involving the top actor.
Last October 19, the Incheon Police Narcotics Crime Investigation Division revealed that they are currently investigating drug-related violations that involve several individuals including a top male actor in his 40s who was revealed as "L." According to them, these people are being investigated for the alleged use of marijuana repeatedly and in different places such as their homes, entertainment establishments, and more, since last year.
With the report being made public and clues about the top male actor, Lee Sun Kyun's name was mentioned a lot of times to match the description.
With this, HODU&U Entertainment shared their official statement:
First of all, we would like to apologize for causing concern with the report about our artist Lee Sun Kyun.
We are currently thoroughly checking the facts on the allegations being raised against Lee Sun Kyun. We will sincerely cooperate in the investigations of the authority that may proceed in the future.
We would also like to address that Lee Sun Kyun has been receiving continuous blackmail and threats from "A" who is involved in this issue. We will take legal action and we will tell you the future progress through our legal representative.
We will also strongly respond to the spread of malicious and false information against actor Lee Sun Kyun.
Once again, we would like to express our regret for causing concern because of this situation."
Aside from Lee Sun Kyun's agency's official statement, it was also revealed that Lee Sun Kyun was not able to participate in the filming of his upcoming K-drama No Way Out. The series was scheduled to film this weekend but because of the police investigation regarding the drug charges, Lee Sun Kyun did not join the filming.
No Way Out will be led by Lee Sun Kyun and other brilliant actors Yoo Jae Myung, Kim Mu Yeol, Lee Kwang Soo, Greg Hsu, and Yeom Jung Ah.
Aside from No Way Out, Lee Sun Kyun is set to lead the upcoming film The Land of Happiness with Jo Jung Suk, Yoo Jae Myung, Lee Sun Kyun, Jin Ki Joo, Kang Mal Geum, and Choi Won Young.
