Lee Sung Kyung will reportedly become the main lead for the upcoming drama "Shooting Star".
According to media outlet Daily Sports on April 26, Lee Sung Kyung has been chosen as the main lead for the upcoming drama.
"Shooting Star" will be written by Lee Soo Hyun and it will be directed by Choi Young Woo who will also co-direct "The Witch's Diner." The drama will be produced by Mace Entertainment.
The drama will narrate the stories of people who works behind the scenes so the stars can shine. The drama will feature variety of professional groups such as public relations team, managers, reporters, and more.
Lee Sung Kyung got the offer to play the character of Oh Han Byul. She will be the head of management of the public relations team of Star Force Entertainment in the upcoming drama.
Details about the airing date and broadcast network are yet to be announced.
Lee Sung Kyung first debuted as a model. In 2014, she made her acting debut in the 2014 SBS drama "It's Okay, That's Love" with main leads Jo In Sung, Gong Hyo Jin, Sung Dong Il, Lee Kwang Soo, Jin Kyung, and more. The model-actress also appeared in dramas such as "Cheese in the Trap" with Kim Go Eun and Park Hae Jin, "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo" with Nam Joo Hyuk, "About Time" with Lee Sang Yoon, "Dr. Romantic 2" with Han Seok Kyu and Ahn Hyo Seop, and more.
The actress recently released a video with "Dr. Romantic 2" co-star Kim Min Jae wherein they collaborated and danced to to Ne-Yo and Jeremih's song "U 2 Luv".
If Lee Sung Kyung accepts the casting role for "Shooting Star," this will be her first drama project for 2021.
