Idol and actress Son Na Eun talks about how she resonated with her Romance in the House character, Byeon Mi Rae, how she handles criticism and more.

Regarding her role as the responsible eldest child, who makes sacrifices for her family, Son Na Eun, "Since I am also the eldest child, I could relate to Mi Rae in many aspects. From the moment I received the script, I wanted to act in the drama." "If there are similarities between Mi Rae and me, it's that we are very responsible, diligent, and positive. I've been acting for over 10 years, so I think I can also say that I am strong in these aspects. There are many everyday-life scenes in the drama. When I was filming the scene where Mi Rae fights with her mother, I actually thought of my mother."

When asked about her satisfaction with the show's ending, she said, "I think it ended well with Mi Rae being able to balance love, work, and family. I watched every broadcast and felt nervous each time, so I wasn't able to watch it objectively. Nevertheless, I'm glad that there were viewers who enjoyed our drama."

She also talked about how she responds to people's reactions to her acting.

She said, "I look up all the responses I get on my acting. Given my experience, I'm not swayed by them. Whether the feedback is positive or critical, I believe in accepting it and making improvements."

Regarding the harsh criticism she received for her performance in the  JTBC drama Agency, she remarked, "Agency was a very good show. It was such a wonderful piece and a work that involved the efforts of many people, but I was upset thinking, 'Perhaps I might have had a negative impact," and, "I think it became a turning point for me to reflect and grow. Thanks to that, I think I was able to do Romance in the House and take on the character of Mi Rae." She continued, "I think I should humbly accept the results and will strive to become a better actress while making up for my shortcomings."

She also expressed gratitude towards director Kim Da Ye for her support: "The director gave me a lot of compliments on set and was straightforward with feedback, being clear if something was right or notI'm very grateful for the opportunity to work with her. She gave me a lot of courage and strength."

Son Na Eun entered her 30s this year. She shares her feelings: "When I was younger, I wanted to grow up quickly, but since I was already quite mature for my age, now, it doesn't feel like much has changed. I wanted to mature quickly and do great things, but at heart, I’m still in my 20s; it's just the number that's increased (laughs). Nowadays, I'm working with the mindset of not being impatient but just taking my time and being grateful for what I'm given. Rather than being greedy for something, I want to approach the work given to me with gratitude."
