Yoo Jae Myung to meet Kim Soo Hyun in a new Disney+ K-drama
SF9's Rowoon and Jo Yi Hyun will be the main leads of the upcoming historical romance K-drama The Battle of Marriage.
On July 5, it was officially confirmed that Rowoon and Jo Yi Hyun will be working together in the upcoming KBS Monday and Tuesday K-drama The Battle of Marriage.
The Battle of Marriage is set in the Joseon dynasty and it will showcase the meeting and romance between a young widow Jung Soon Deok and a young widower named Shim Jung Woo. They will work together to marry off Joseon's representative women. It will be the Joseon version of the film Love, Actually.
The upcoming K-drama will be the collaboration work of director Hwang Seung Gi (Radio Romance) and writer Ha Soo Jin (Sell Your Haunted House).
The Battle of Marriage will reportedly premiere in October 2023. It will have a total of 16 episodes.
Rowoon will give life to the character named Shim Jung Woo. He is the youngest student to pass the Civil Service Exam. He is a man of misfortune after the death of a princess during the wedding ceremony. He lost his chances of a successful career and marriage. This will be the first K-drama of Rowoon for 2023. The idol actor will also star in the upcoming K-dramas Murky Water and Destined With You.
Jo Yi Hyun will play the role of Jung Soon Deok. She is the second daughter-in-law of the first vice-premier’s family. She lives a double life as the best matchmaker in the city also known as Mrs. Yeo Joo. This will also be the first K-drama of Cho Yi Hyun for the year. After this series, the actress will also join the upcoming K-dramas Vampire Chef, Summer Vacation, and All of Us Are Dead Season 2.
