 ANNYEONGHASEYO!

Ever been troubled by the fact that you have so many dramas you need to finish but so little time to watch before new dramas come? Are your On Hold and your Plan to Watch lists overwhelming you with how big they keep getting? Or perhaps you are feeling drama fatigue, and simply can’t start any dramas even though you have a list of choices to choose from? Well, my drama chingus, it is time for a good spring cleaning.

Yes, I am well aware of the fact that spring cleaning is a tiresome chore in daily life, but this is a chore you will need if you want to finish more dramas. Even though it shouldn’t feel like a necessity to finish a drama, many of us do not like leaving things we started. Of course, our day-to-day lives are always busy for all of us, so to make it easier, one must organize a bit. So without further ado here are some spring cleaning tips.

TIP #1: TACKLE THE 'ON HOLD' LIST

Re-categorize all the dramas in this list. You must either put a drama in Dropped or Not Interested.

  • If you cannot even recall what the drama is about by the title, drop it.
  • If you haven’t even started the drama, put it in the Not Interested list.
  • If it is a drama where you are only 1-6 episodes in, put it in the Dropped List. Most of the time, these dramas were not worth it anyway.
  • If you are nearly done with the drama, you can choose between Dropped List & Currently Watching.

TIP #2: REDUCE YOUR PLAN TO WATCH LIST

For this list, you must repeat Tip 1 but also utilize your not interested list by doing the following:

  • Kill any drama older than 2012. If you haven’t gotten to it now, you are not likely to get to it at all.
  • Remove any dramas of your bias(s) were the rating was under 7.5. Yes, I know this is quite a shocking thing to read, but if it isn’t an upcoming drama/movies or from 2016-now, you simply weren’t interested enough to watch, but felt obligated to support your bias(es). Place the drama in Not Interested list for time being.
  • Remove any drama that you have had for more than two years. You are not likely going to watch it and have forgotten about it already.
  • Dramas that you want to get to soon, place in your Currently Watching list.

TIP #3: VISIBILITY OF CURRENTLY WATCHING

The reason your currently watch list is important is because  it is the most prominent list you see when you enter your MyWatchlist. Being able to see it every time you log on will likely promote you to watch it more compared to it being in your other lists.

  • Start with your nearly done dramas by attempting to watch an episode on the weekend. Most people have free time on the weekends so its the best placed to start.
  • To keep you from overcrowding this list, you must keep it under 40. So any drama you haven’t worked on even after cleaning, should be thrown away.

TIP #4: IT IS OKAY TO LET IT GO

You aren’t going to lose any of these dramas. They will always be filed on MDL. So whether you remove them completely from your lists or not, they won't be lost forever.

  TIP #5: SET GOALS

Write down at least two dramas you want to finish. Set a date for when you must have them finished by. Yes, it sounds like homework, but you are reading a guide to finishing dramas, so…..yeah. You can also join challenges such as 2018 Watch Challenge.

  TIP #6: PLAY MUSIC

This is a cleansing experience, but it will take time if your lists are large, so while you're doing it play some music.

   TIP #7: MAINTENANCE CHECK

To maintain your list, mini-clean it every three months by repeating Tip #1 only.

Well that is it for today, hopefully it was helpful to you all. Just remember dramas are meant to be a form of relaxant. There is no need to stress about watching. Simply enjoy it.

Until Next Time Chingus!
