Much awaited teasers for Squid Game Season 2 has begun.

On the 13th (local time), Screen Rant, an American entertainment media, said about the expected story of "Squid Game Season 2".

"The dark narrative of the Front Man (Lee Byung Hun), who revealed his face in season 1, will be the main part of season 2."

"Squid Game" released to the world through Netflix in September 2021 tells the story of people who participated in a mysterious survival game with a prize of 45.6 billion won, risking their lives and joining extreme games to become the final winner. The hit series "Squid Game" created a boom of the 'K-content' syndrome around the world, was ranked #1 in Netflix's 'Today's Top 10' category for 46 consecutive days from September 23 to November 7 of that year around the world, according to the  OTT platform organizing aggregation site FlixPatrol.

Lee Jung Jae and Jung Ho Yeon, who became world stars overnight with "Squid Game," won the 28th Screen Actors Guild Award for best actor and actress. Also, Lee Jung Jae created a miracle by becoming the first Korean actor who win the best actor at the 74th Primetime Emmy Award.

Director Hwang Dong Hyeok, who received tremendous support from worldwide viewers for Season 2, got a lot of spotlights when he officially announced the production of Season 2, saying:

"A new game begins," through Netflix's official account in June last year. He said, "Now Sung Ki Hoon (Lee Jung Jae) is back. The Front Man is back. Season 2 is back. The man in a suit with a ticket (Gong Yoo) may also return. You can also meet Young Hee's boyfriend Cheol Su. I'll meet you again with the new game and amazing story."

"Squid Game" has been reborn as the most anticipated series in the world. Ahead of season 2 filming this year, Screen Rant predicted that the story would be darker than season 1, attracting public attention again.

The media stated,

"In season 1, it was revealed that the identity of the mysterious Front Man was Hwang In Ho, the brother of Hwang Jun Ho (Wi Ha Jun), a police officer who sneaked into the game to investigate the case. And it could be expected that he was the final winner who won the game in the past. This winner became the right hand of Oh Il Nam (Oh Young Soo), the founder of the cruel squid game, and became the person in charge of leading the masked game organizers. The story of Hwang In Ho and the game organizers is mostly a mystery, but in season 2, all the truth will be revealed."

Also, director Hwang Dong Hyuk said in an interview with Forbes earlier that 'In season 2, I want to dig deeper into the theme of the Front Man, and the police group to which Hwang In Ho's younger brother Hwang Jun Ho belongs'. At the time, Hwang Dong Hyuk mentioned:

"I think the problem of police is not only happening in Korea. It's a problem I've also seen in global news, an issue I've wanted to raise for a while. I'll be able to deal with it more in Season 2." "Squid Game" is a drama that revolves around the corruption of society and its effect on the weak and the strong. In season 2, the past story of how Hwang In Ho came to stand on the side of the strong will be revealed, and how the game organizers in the game were formed will be covered. In addition, the story of police officers of various ages and personalities who became insensitive to violence after being trained to use weapons is also expected to be revealed."

Spoilers for Seong Ki Hoon, the main character of Season 1 of "Squid Game," were also addressed. Screen Rant said a scene in Season 1 of "Squid Game" in which the main character Seong Ki Hoon played a ticket for 100,000 won with a man in a suit before receiving an invitation to a real game, and said,

"Sung Ki Hoon was one of the 456 players who participated in the game by choosing a blue ticket. Therefore, the assumption that if he had chosen the red ticket, he would have been a game organizer in red was the most chosen." Director Hwang Dong Hyuk added trust to this theory, saying, "The public is more creative than I am."

Furthermore, Seong Ki Hoon, who dyed his hair red in Season 1 of "Squid Game," called to participate in the game right before boarding the plane to the United States and said, "I am not a piece on the game. I am a human. Who are you, and how can you do this to people? So I can't forgive you guys."

Regarding this, they were confident that

"Season 1 ended with Seong Gi Hoon turning his back on the flight to the United States and announcing that he would take action against a game that had a huge impact on his life. So, when we expected a story that would dig deeper into the game's internal structure, such as the identity and personality of 'Sung Ki Hoon,' Sung Ki Hoon could be one of them this time."

They also mentioned:

"The whole point of "Squid Game" is about how money changes the world and what kind of power those who have it have over those who don't. Even though Seong Ki Hoon won the final prize, he hesitated to use the money because the money was stained with the blood of the game participants. "Squid Game" wants to talk about this. Sung Ki Hoon aimed to end the cruel power that perfectly tramples desperate souls to use the wealth and power given to him. So a good role for Seong Ki Hoon, who begins this revenge, is a game organizer represented by circles, triangles, and squares."
