Jang So Yeon is confirmed to star alongside Wi Ha Joon and Jung Ryeo Won in a new K-drama
Studio & New has entered into a long-term content partnership with Disney+ to create original contents!
Studio & New, an affiliate of Media Group NEW has signed a content partnership with Disney for five years. Studio & New and Disney+ will work together to produce various original contents.
The partnership of two big companies will focus on creating content that will not only capture Korean viewers but also other consumers from different countries. Studio & New will step up with their creations and will attempt new genres for the next five years. This partnership will serve as an opportunity for the content to be more global with Korean touch and influence.
Studio & New is known for producing dramas such as "Descendants of The Sun" with main leads Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo, "The Beauty Inside" with Lee Min Ki and Seo Hyun Jin, two seasons of "Chief of Staff" starring Lee Jung Jae and Shin Min Ah, the upcoming tvN drama "Doom At Your Service" with main leads Park Bo Young and Seo In Guk, and more.
They also produced the movies "The Great Battle" with cast Jo In Sung, Nam Joo Hyuk, Park Sung Woong and more, and "The Beast" with leads Lee Sung Min, Yoo Jae Myung, Jeon Hye Jin, and Choi Daniel.
On the other hand, Disney+ will end its partnership with Korean OTT streaming service Wavve. Their service will only be available until April 30. 100 animated films and movies like “Avengers” and "Frozen" will be removed on Wavve. With this, they are entering the Korean market in 2021 and will compete against Korean OTT streaming services, Netflix, and Apple TV+ who's also confirmed to launch in Korea. Early this year, it was reported that the first ever Korean drama that Disney+ will produce will be "Our Police Course" starring Kang Daniel.
