On August 29th, the production of the new ENA Wednesday-Thursday drama The Day (directed by Park Yoo Young and written by Kim Je Young), which is set to premiere on September 13th, revealing the character played by Yoon Kye Sang, Kim Myung Joon.

The Day is a comedy thriller that tells the story of Kim Myung Joon, an inept kidnapper, and Choi Ro Hee (Yu Na), an 11-year-old genius girl. Based on a novel by author Jung Hae Yeon, the drama strikes a delicate balance between comedy and mystery.

Yoon Kye Sang's unwavering versatility has raised expectations. His character, Kim Myung Joon becomes entangled in an incident and is pursued as a murder suspect.  After the abduction, he forms an unlikely bond with the brilliant girl Choi Ro Hee.

The photos of Kim Myung Joon before and after becoming a kidnapper shone light to a change in his demeanor. In one photo, he holds hands with his daughter Hee Ae (played by Choi Eun Woo), capturing his character as a 'doting father' walking down the hospital corridor. His life is far from easy but he refuses to break down and continues to smile in front of his sick daughter.

Kim Myung Joon joins the kidnapping planned by his ex-wife Seo Hye Eun (played by Kim Shin Rok) because of their daughter. Subsequent photos capture Kim Myung Joon's attempt to kidnap Choi Ro Hee. Tension is evident as he tightly grips the steering wheel, questioning if their plans will succeed.

Yoon Kye Sang explained why he chose to work on The Day, saying, "I believe it is a project that would give viewers positive energy. The unusual buddy genre is also impressive." He added, "The script is interesting. It shows that even if there are times when life shakes us, if we have a healthy mindset, we can overcome bad choices and achieve good results."

Meanwhile, The Day is the second ENA drama produced by AStory and KT Studio Genie, following the highly talked-about 2022 drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo. The new ENA Wednesday-Thursday drama The Day will premiere on September 13th at 9 PM KST.
