Train to Busan director Yeon Sang Ho's Parasyte: The Grey has confirmed its release for April 5.

Parasyte: The Grey is a Netflix series that portrays the conflict between humans and unknown parasites that fall from space, create their own forces using humans as hosts, and bring chaos. It is based on a Japanese manga series, Kiseijuu, by Iwaaki Hitoshi.

The teaser poster shows the spores of unidentified parasitic organisms falling from the sky. These spores signify the beginning of a catastrophe as they penetrate humans and transform into various forms.

At the center, Jung Soo In (Jeon So Nee) stands with one side of her face distorted and a parasitic tentacle protruding out of it.

It also amplifies curiosity about how humans, turning into mutants, will survive. The text "The Parasite Hidden Amongst Us" heightens intrigue for the sci-fi thriller.

Parasyte: The Grey is based on the manga Japanese manga series Kiseijuu by Hitoshi Iwaaki, which has sold over 25 million copies in over 30 regions and countries. The manga's creative premise and philosophical message have captivated readers worldwide.

The writer of the Japanese manga, Hitoshi Iwaaki, expressed excitement, stating, "I had this thought when the manga was made into a live-action in Japan. To me, the original comic is like my child, and animation and live-action films feel like grandchildren. The child is born in a small room out of my endeavor, and the grandchild is born when the child ventures out into the world and gains wisdom, experiences, and skills of many people. I am very happy to have a grandchild born in Korea this time. And I believe it will take me to a world far beyond my imagination, as it is a new story set in a different place."

Director Yeon Sang Ho further ignites anticipation, saying, "Expanding Parasyte, which was like a textbook of manga when I was studying comics and animation, and making its live-action felt like a dream come true."

Jeon So Nee takes on the role of Jung Soo In, who forms a bizarre symbiosis with the parasitic beast Heidi. Koo Kyo Hwan plays Seol Kang Woo, who chases after parasitic beasts to find his missing sister. Lee Jung Hyun portrays Choi Joon Kyung, the leader of The Grey team and a woman who lost her husband to parasitic organisms. She lives with the mission to exterminate parasites.

Kwon Hae Hyo portrays Cheol Min, a senior detective at Namil Police Station who is determined to protect the prisoners until the end, and Kim In Kwon plays Won Seok, Cheol Min's junior who wants to play a part in the operation to eradicate the parasitic beasts.

Parasyte: The Grey will be released on Netflix on April 5.
