Ha Jung Woo and Yeo Jin Goo's "Hijacking" Confirms Release Date
Ahead of the fantasy rom-com's release, tvN has released a video giving a sneak peek into the first episode of The Heavenly Idol. The K-drama will air today at 22:30 (KST).
The Heavenly Idol is a story of a high priest in the heavens Pontifex Lembrary (Kim Min Gue), who gets transferred to the mortal realm while fighting against a devil. The divine being then finds himself in the body of a struggling idol, Woo Yeon Woo.
Woo Yeon Woo is a member of the boy band group Wild Animal and debuted as an idol five years ago. But due to its deteriorating popularity, the group is on the brink of failure and disbandment. Pontifex Lembrary now struggles to live with the challenges that come with being a K-Pop idol, such as singing, dancing, and following a rigid diet.
Woo Yeon Woo is pretty much a lost cause until Kim Dal (Go Bo Gyeol) comes to his rescue.
Kim Dal is a die-hard fan of Yeon Woo. And upon hearing the news of disbandment, she jumps in to take the responsibility of being the group's manager to steer the group and Yeon Woo's future away from failure.

Apart from Kim Min Gue and Go Bo Gyeol, The Heavenly Idol also stars Lee Jang Woo, Cha Joo Young, Kim Seo Ha, and Lee Won Jun, among others.
The K-drama is adapted from an original web novel Holy Idol by Sin Hwa Jin. It will be marked as the debut work of Lee Chun Geum as a screenwriter. Park So Yeon and Lee So Yoon are credited for the drama's direction.
