Upcoming K-drama "The Sand Flower" Announces its Cast Lineup!

Jang Dong Yoon and Lee Joo Myung are officially the main leads of the upcoming K-drama The Sand Flower.

The production team of the upcoming K-drama  The Sand Flower announced the official cast lineup of the series. Aside from Jang Dong Yoon and Lee Joo Myung, Yoon Jong Seok, Kim Bo Ra, Lee Jae Joon, and Lee Joo Seung, will also star in the upcoming romance comedy K-drama. 

The Sand Flower will be the next project of director Kim Jin Woo (A Model Family, Healer, and Good Doctor) and writer Won Yoo Jung (The Lies Within). 

The upcoming K-drama will showcase the growth of a former wrestling prodigy named Kim Baek Doo and a former alley leader. They will reunite at the present times and the series will showcase their struggles from youth to now that they are an adult.

The production team shared, "This is a romantic comedy drama based on ssireum (traditional Korean wrestling) and will surely give a different kind of excitement. Please anticipate the synergy of the young actors of the upcoming series."

The Sand Flower is scheduled to premiere in the second half of 2023.

Jang Dong Yoon will give life to the character named Kim Baek Doo. He is a Taebaek class player from the Geosan County Office Ssireum team. He came from a prestigious ssireum family and was labeled as a prodigy who will become a ssireum star because of his amazing skills. In the present time, he is a normal player with no decent title. As he faces the possibility of retirement, he will reunite with Oh Yu Kyung and his ssireum life will experience a change. 

Oh Yu Kyung will be played by Lee Joo Myung. She is loved by different sports coaches for her natural athletic ability and competitiveness. Oh Yu Kyung returns to Geosan as she became the head of the management team of the Geosan-gun Office. She then meets Kim Baek Doo once again and discusses with him his retirement.

Yoon Jong Seok will play the role of Min Hyun Wook. He will go to Geosan at the same time as Oh Yu Kyung. He has always lived comfortably without lacking anything. He adapted quickly after moving to Geosan and naturally works well with people at the Geosan Market.

Kim Bo Ra will play the role of Joo Mi Ran. She is a mysterious cafe owner who suddenly went to Geosan.

Lee Jae Joon will work closely with Jang Dong Yoon. He will play the role of Kwak Jin Soo, the longtime rival of Kim Baek Doo in ssireum.

Lastly, Lee Joo Seung will play the role of Cho Seok Hee. He is Kim Baek Doo's friend. He currently works as a policeman in the Geosan district.
