WJSN’s Exy will possibly join the cast line-up of the upcoming drama "Idol: The Coup"!
Several media outlets reported on July 19th that WJSN’s Exy will be joining the upcoming idol-themed drama "Idol: The Coup."
Exy's agency Starship Entertainment responded to the reports stating that the idol-actress is positively considering the offer to star in the upcoming drama. Her possible character in the drama has not yet been revealed.
"Idol: The Coup" will narrate the story of failed idols who are trying to achieve success even for once before they finally disband. The series will showcase how youngsters realize another dream after being a failure on their first one, which is being a successful idol.
The upcoming drama "Idol: The Coup" will be helmed by director Noh Jong Chan who also worked for "Clean With Passion For Now." The script will be penned by "Misaeng: Incomplete Life" scriptwriter Jung Yoon Jung. Kwak Si Yang, EXID's Ahn Hee Yeon, and Kim Min Kyu are already confirmed to star in the drama.
Transparent Arts, TAKE2 MEDIA GROUP, and JTBC Studio will produce the drama. "Idol: The Coup" will reportedly air this year.
Exy debuted in the girl group WJSN formed by Starship Entertainment in 2016. Ever since then, she has been active in idol activities. She also participated in the program Unpretty Rapstar Vol. 2 and competed with several female rappers.
She made her acting debut in the web drama "The Flatterer" with Kwak Dong Yeon, SISTAR's Yoon Bora, FT Island's Lee Jae Jin, Song Yool Kyu, and Bae Seul Gi.
She is also set to star in the upcoming Netflix series "A Ghost Story" with Oh My Girl's Arin, MONSTA X's Shownu, The Boyz' Ju Hak Nyeon, BTOB's Lee Min Hyuk, and Bong Jae Hyun.
