Kim Go Eun's "Yumi's Cells" brought home the award of ‘Best Original Program by a streamer/OTT’. The prestigious award is presented every year as a part of the Asian Academy Creative Awards in Singapore. The event is held to celebrate and appreciate the excellence of the Asia-Pacific region's film and television industries.  This year the award show was held in person on the 7th and 8th of December.

"Yumi's Cells" had a face-off with “The Rap of China” (China), “Ghost Cleansing Ltd” (Hong Kong), “Mumbai Diaries” (India), “Seribu Nina” (Malaysia), “Still” (Philippines), “Identiti” (Singapore), and “Wannabe” (Thailand), and emerged as the winner among all the mentioned series.

Apart from "Yumi's Cells", three other K-dramas were nominated at the prestigious award show including Twenty Five Twenty OneOur Blues, and Hometown Cha Cha Cha - all shows produced by Studio Dragon.

The award was accepted by Yoo Seul Gi - a producer belonging to Studio Dragon. He comments, “This drama was a new challenge for us, and we are so grateful to be given an award for this challenge. I am so glad to have been able to make this drama.”

The rom-com K-drama "Yumi's Cells" tells the story of Kim Yu Mi (Kim Go Eun) - whose love cell has been in a coma ever since her painful breakup. Her love cells might never have recovered had it not been for Goo Woong (Ahn Bo Hyun). Will Yu Mi finally find her true love Goo Woong and recover her love cells? Or will she face another heartbreak?

The K-drama is based on a webtoon of the same name written by Lee Dong Gun. The show stars Kim Go Eun, Ahn Bo Hyun, Park Jin Young (second season), Lee Yoo Bi, and Park Ji Hyun among others. The first season of the drama premiered with 14 episodes on September 17, 2021. It was followed by the second season on June 10, 2022, with the same number of episodes.

Congratulations to the entire team of Yumi's Cells!
