Mae Ying Karakade, orphaned, was brought into Por Date's family home to live as she was betrothed to him by their fathers since the children were young. She is a jealous and vengeful woman who tried to kill her love rival but her love rival's maidservant died instead. Por Date and his father chanted a sacred mantra which enacted divine karma and caused Mae Ying Karakade to die. Her soul meets Kadesurang's in the afterlife and she asks Kadesurang to help her redeem her character. Kadesurang is then reincarnated in Mae Ying Karakade's body and henceforward has to live as Mae Ying Karakade in ancient Ayutthaya time.
