Kim Mu Jin
Born into immense wealth, Kim Mu Jin knows that claiming to prefer an ordinary life sounds impossible coming from someone with a silver spoon, let alone a diamond one. Even so, he genuinely longed for a simple, ordinary life.
Ever since he was young, he dreamed of becoming a chef, but his mother strongly opposed the idea. When he was in his first year of middle school, his father passed away, and after fighting to protect the family's company from his uncles, his exhausted mother collapsed and was hospitalised. Everyone told Mu Jin it was now his responsibility to stand by her and safeguard the family business. After only three hours of soul-searching, he gave up on his dream.
After graduating from Seoul National University's Business School and before leaving for an MBA at Stanford, he joined one of the family's franchise restaurants, starting from the very bottom as a server to begin his training as the company's successor. To hide the fact that he was the owner's son, he deliberately dressed in cheap market clothes and commuted by bus and subway. During those commutes, he often ran into Gyu Rim, who also worked part-time at the restaurant.
"Who is this woman?" he found himself wondering. Before long, Gyu Rim's unique way of comforting and encouraging others completely won him over.
