What do you like most about using MyDramaList?
The information about country, episodes, duration, genre, and tags are helpful in choosing my next watch. Cast member information is desirable because when a certain actors click with me, I want to watch more of their work. I also enjoy the reviews and forums. I have memory issues, so keeping track of dramas I've viewed is needful. The sense of community is nice.
Which features do you use most often? (e.g., drama tracking, reviews, ratings, forums, etc.)
Drama tracking, friends' reviews.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how easy is it to navigate MyDramaList?
Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.
Are there any features on MDL that you find overwhelming or unnecessary? Please elaborate.
No.
Which feature would you most like to see improved? (e.g., drama pages, user profiles, interaction options, etc.)
I'd like the custom list tags when adding a new drama to stay in alphabetical order. It's a mess when a person has lots of tags to scroll through them all. If they stayed in alphabetical order, they'd be easier to find. In the same vein, I'd like the public/private lists to also stay in alphabetical order.
If you could add a new feature to MDL, what would it be and why?
I'd add a new category to drama status of "To Air." I like to binge, but new dramas get lost if I put them in "Plan to Watch" due to the size of my PTW list.
Do you think MDL is too complex for its purpose? Why or why not?
It seems rather straightforward to me. I don't understand the badges, but I don't think anyone does.
How important are these features to you? (e.g., drama tracking, community forums, user reviews, etc.)
Drama tracking is why I'm here. Everything else is added helpfulness and fun.
On a scale of 1 to 10, how likely are you to use a simpler drama-tracking app that focuses only on tracking and user interaction?
Zero as long as MDL remains the same. Okay, one, if I'm following the rules.
What do you think of MDL’s design and layout? Is it user-friendly?
I have no complaints. Could it be more attractive? Probably. Do I care? No. It's a font of information, and that's what I'm here for.
How do you feel about the detailed drama pages? Are they easy to navigate and informative?
They are easy to navigate and informative.
Would you prefer a simpler interface that focuses solely on drama tracking and user interaction? (Yes/No/Maybe)
I'm not one to scream about change (especially for improvements), but that would be a change for the worse. Would that mean I would have to go to IMDb for cast members and ratings? If so, why would I even come to MDL? I can do drama tracking, check cast members, and read reviews on IMDb.
If you could change one thing about MDL, what would it be?
All lists capable of being in alphabetical order.
Any other suggestions or feedback you’d like to share?
There seems to be some concern about the need to simplify MDL for users, but you should consider that the users of MDL are likely more intelligent and savvy than the average app user. People who use the MDL forum are likely extremely literate or polyglots, as they read subtitles or listen to dramas in a number of languages. These are not people who are stymied by an abundance of information.
