Mame is the author of the popular webnovels that inspired Don't Say No and other series in the same storyworld. This discussion post was made to discuss the chronology of these peripherally connected stories.
The TharnType, Love By Chance, Don't Say No, Love in the Air, and Wedding Plan titles can all be watched independently - but they are connected in the following ways:
1.) TharnType | The finale episode (in a flash forward sequence 3 years into the future) briefly references the events of Love By Chance 2 and introduces viewers to Pete and Tin (LBC). |
2.) Love By Chance | Type and Techno (from TharnType) are seniors on the football/soccer team with Ae and Can. Tar and Tum's story is also present in both Love By Chance and TharnType.
(However, they are played by different actors because they were done by different production companies.) |
3.) Love By Chance 2: A Chance To Love 3.) TharnType: Our Final Love [Special Episode] | The events of Love By Chance 2 are briefly referenced in the TharnType Season 1 Special Episode, and features a cameo of Pete (LBC).
However, some of the referenced events had to be re-written when LBC 2 actually went into production - as behind-the-scenes conflict resulted in Saint (playing Pete) leaving the project. Mame, who likes her series to be as close as possible to her books, had to rewrite the chronology of events for LBC 2. |
4.) TharnType 2: 7 Years of Love 4.) Don't Say No: The Secret (Love) [Special Episode] | Don't Say No's Prequel Episode isolates Leo and Fiat's moments from TharnType Season 2. It also adds and lengthens a few scenes that were not previously seen. |
5.) Don't Say No |
|
6.) TharnType 2: The Wedding Day [Special Episode] | Leo and Fiat (Don't Say No) make a brief appearance as a lovey-dovey couple. |
7.) Love in the Air | Love In The Air features several Don't Say No cameos: The Twins (at the race venue) Natsu (at the hotel restaurant) Leon (at the birthday party)
As Natsu is a business woman and Leon is alone at a party full of people he knows, this appears to take place between the events of Don't Say No and the Don't Say No Special Episode. |
8.) Love in the Air Special Episode [Special Episode] | This special episode features an extended cameo of Natsu (DSN). |
9.) Don't Say No: Special Episode [Special Episode] | Takes place 3 years after Don't Say No |
10.) Wedding Plan | Prapai, Sky, Rain, and Payu (LITA) make an important cameo at the wedding in the beginning of episode 1. Prapai is also seen in a flashback at the end of episode 1. All 4 (LITA) also make an extended appearance in episode 3.
Sun (Ae and Pond's childhood friend in Love By Chance - but different actor) is Nuea's brother's boyfriend. |
11) Wedding Plan Special Episode | Takes place ~2 years after Wedding Plan.
Sun (Ae and Pond's childhood friend in Love By Chance - but different actor) is Nuea's brother's boyfriend. |
Ehhhh?) Love Sea
*We have lost the Mame Cinematic Universe plot with this one. I don't know what's going on. Is this like the Deadpool of this universe? | Connor, who sent Tongrak to the island, is the boyfriend of Khom, Type’s childhood best friend from back home in TharnType.
Tongrak is the writer of Boy Next World, which is announcing its "live action adaptation" starring Boss and Noeul (who star in the real-world live action adaptation of the book).
Bonus: You can see various characters reading other Mame books on screen, attributed to Tongrak ofc, such as "Love Sand" (which is Khom and Connor's book) and "Test Love" (the book centering around Sun and Ryu (Wedding Plan and LBC). |
Ehhhh Pt 2) Love Sea Special Episode |
Bonus: In the background of one scene, we can see the posters for the books "Love Storm" and "Love Sky" (the 2 books that made up Love in the Air) and "Love Director." |
*) Boy Next World | **Pending Release**
Phugun is Tharn's cousin (TharnType). Both Phugun and Cirrus are reoccurring characters in TharnType 2 (different actors). |
There are a few other Mame series in the works, but we can't determine how they are connected quite yet.
