Smile is an amazing drama. It is nothing like any other dramas I have ever seen.
Aside from containing a beautiful lovestory, The movie also takes up serious subjects such as racism and people relations. I tried finding a trailer, but no luck.. None were made as of yet.
If you haven't seen SMILE, not watching it or dropping it will definately be something you might regret. It is a drama that can't be judged only by the bases. Have you seen it, Or are you planning on watching..?
This is such a good drama.
there wasn't a thread for smile yet? it's such a good drama. the true theme of this drama is no matter what horrible circumstances life throws at you never lose hope, keep trying to achieve ur goals and keep smiling. 2 things about matsujun in this drama 1. he is very tanned and looks like a greasy sweaty asian which should be gross but he still looks hot(i love when his hair is fluffy) and 2. his acting is so well done in this drama. you really feel for his character from epi 1. the acting overall is well done. if u love oguri shun i guarantee u will hate him in this. he's that good at being bad. the drama also showcases racism in japan towards foreigner in particular asian foreigners. it's a bit of an eye opener for anyone who has yet to experience japanese racism. this drama should be on everyone's watched list.
watching it right now. I think one of the most frustrating things in the world would be to be tellng the truth and no one believe you.

Matsujun always does a good job acting in everything I've seen him in, and you're right Shun's character was such a... fatherless boy. They both did an awesome job. So did everyone else. And yeah, why is it that Asian people seem to fight over which nationality is better?

Anyways, this was a great drama. I'm so glad I didn't drop it in the beginning.

I have only seen Matsujun act in somewhat fangirly shows, so I had no idea how well he could actually act. For every problem he went through, from bad luck to discrimination, he was my half-Filipino brother! All the crap he went through because no one believed him because of his heritage. He was as Japanese as everyone else on the show, but that fact that he looked different because of his heritage made me so mad. I cried manly tears at the end of the show; it took a bit for me to calm down.

My one (minor) complaint about the show is that the babies in the opening/ending sequence creep me out; what do they have to do with the show!? All I thought of was new beginnings (or somehow making Aragaki Yui seem even more cute and innocent; impossible!).

Yeah, I thought the same thing about the opening. I liked the main song but the opening video was terrible. I think the babies represented different races being together, but still it was weird.
