Episode 5 Spoiler

Ok. So Once Daimon got to obtaining that very important big of history on raw pork I thought it was Neurocystercosis 2/2 Taenia Solium.

The subtitles have it as Arkpaikuida larva/cauliflower worm which didnt make much sense since the dude was eating raw pork. I am not a biologist so I dont know what this cauliflower worm does either. I spent some time googling the diagnosis in japanese.

ゆうこうじょうちゅうしょう【有鉤条虫症 Taeniasis Solium, Taeniosis Solium】

And indeed it is taenia solium.

Which then makes it very odd.

Ok. first of all. I dont think the AI was wrong.

After they showed the CT and MRI T1 axial I def thought it was #1 abscess #2 met (prior to the CT i thought it was the other way round)

it was a human error that the history of raw pork consumption wasnt elicted and inputted to hippocrates. and hippocrates still had Other diagnosis listed as #5 or 6 (so it wasnt wrong!)

I think machines with the right information can probably do a lot better than humans especially giive it another decade or so.

Ok. the odd part is.

if it was neurocysterocisis in the left frontal lobe. the treatment is anticonvulsant (since he has seizures) and albendazole/praziquantel  (active infection) . there doesnt seem to be an immediate role for surgical resection unless there is hydrocephalus or ocular involvement.

so i am confused. usually daimon michiko is right. but she probably is right again because the guy had zero deficits post resection and still won shogi against that robot. lol. she can operate on anything and still save teh day. well done daimon michiko my idol.
