I sped through TTEOTM and I liked the mortal arc stuff the best (Xiao Lin of course). The other stuff...not so much. I think even between that drama and LYF, you can see how much DW improved in his performance as well. There's much more for him to work with in the character of TSJ (until the second half of S2 lol).

Xiao Lin is the best. Right, Deng Wei's acting improved much in LYF

Like she said Melody of Golden Age is good. I have not finished because of bad translation before but now is good, you can try. I'm watching a drama with the same male lead Love Game in Eastern Fantasy,

It's been a disappointing year (for me at least) in C drama land. I've been taking a break largely. Some things I did check out recently that were ok were Melody of Golden Age and Love of Nirvana.

I heard Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty (I and II) were good, but it wasn't up my alley (at least for now).

I saw the trailer for Love Game but it's just okay to me, I don't get the comedy of  Esther's role although I love Ding Yu Xi in costume dramas ?

It's not draggy, the female lead is smart and doesn't believe what she sees easily, she investigates situations. The most annoying character is the second male lead and the flashbacks with him,
