lulupony:CX has always been number 1 in XY's heart, even at the end of the novel after she's with Jing.
That's true. Their story is very tragic tbh. But I'm enjoying the acting very much. It kind of makes me understand why a lot of actors/actresses love "BEings".
Noush:You could see it very well in " The Legend of Xiao Chuo" drama.
While I do agree that XY would not be happy I personally don't think Legend of Xiao Chuo is a good example because Xiao Yan Yan did not love the emperor initially. In fact, of the three sisters, only Xiao Wuguli loved her husband in the beginning and for some reason, I can't see XY and CX ending up the way she and her husband did. But that's just my personal opinion.

Yes, you are right, it's different than the Legend of Xiao Chuo drama, but you can't deny the toxic environment of politics and governing a country for lovers. In that drama, FL, she kept her respectful love for her emperor husband, gave him kids, and helped him in governing the country 24/7. But it didn't end well anyway. Of course, CX is a much stronger character and Emperor than him.
All I want to say is, that I won't see a very bright(happy ending) future even XY and CX would end up together if he still followed the same goal. They say you can choose only one of the crowns, between the crowns of Wealth, Power, and Love.

That's exactly why I started watching, since ZWY is one of my favorite young actors in C-ent in recent years. There is something that YaoXuan shipper say, that our biggest source of confidence is the acting talent in our FL and ML, with acting powerhouses of Yang Zi and Zhang Wan Yi. Their scenes are truly 1+1>2, and they bring out the best in each other. I think we have some really good scenes to look forward to in S2, even it doesn't bode for a happy ending for this pairing.
I think the beauty of the YaoXuan ship is they they never got together romantically because I find the love they share is much more intense than romantic love. CX never needed to earn XY trust and love. She gave it to him in spade. He got something much more precious from her but too bad he didn't realize that.
Secondly, the both of them are incredibly traumatized kid. So I can't help but think part of their love is a by-product of trauma-bonding. I believe that CX is capable of getting the throne without needing to hand over XY to both FL and Jing, or him needing marriage alliances. But when the Haoling King told him he was not ready, he insisted. This show that CX had gotten very impatient, and this impatience had influenced his behaviors when it come to XY/FL/Jing. Not only that, I think CX have some fear in his heart as well. In front of him are two examples: The Xiyan king who married for power, and the Haoling king who devoted to one woman. He saw first hand the sacrifices they both had to made, and they STILL lost the woman they love. Not to say that CX will repeat their mistakes, but I think it did influenced him and prompted him to take the third route: if you never had your love, you can't lose them.
To be frank, I do not feel bad for the YaoXuan ship. I feel bad for CX. Both XY and him had suffered a lot as children for the decisions made by adults. But XY found a reason and someone to heal her wound, unconditional (to the point of irrational) love from Jing (and XL although she was not aware). But CX, despite wandering the world for 200 years, did not met his "Jing" and "XL". So he pin that love/healing on XY. So rather than wishing that he had picked XY from the start, I wished he had met his Jing/XL. They both deserve their proper "healing" but only XY did.
In another life and time, maybe they will find each other.

Um.. I think the reason why CX could not find his Jing/XL is because he had closed this side of him for a reason whereas Xiao Yao is much more open up with her heart. That's the reason why CX would lose Xiao Yao too forever as well?
I have been shipping YaoXuan since day one and have finally found the perfect picture that captures my feelings for this ship!!

Yes, that's us. LOL I've seen it before. It's so sad that we can't even get a sweet forehead kiss on episode 25. Almost is not good enough. :'(

I agree with you that YaoXuan is much more than just mere romance. Their love is also way beyond the typical familial/brother-sister bond. They're intricately weaved together, blood and bone, and they are always each other's number one.
I disagree with you in that I don't think CX would ever be able to find his Jing, not that he's not deserving of it, but that it would not have been possible in his circumstance. Xiaoyao's identity was hidden, and she was mostly free from the burdens of her true identity in the live she was carrying. Not so with CX, as he was fully chained to the royal bloodline that he's carrying.
That's why their relationship is epically memorable to me, given their star-crossed fate due to inevitable circumstances. I saw someone commented that the character of CX had almost Shakespearean level of gravitas and impact, and I'm inclined to agree, both in the writing and in the acting. I really do think that he's the character that will be the most impactful upon drama's end, and hence why he's the ML in this show.

OMG IKR!! They just won't give our poor Cang Xuan a break after all that he's been through. Just hoping there's some more sweet tender YaoXuan scenes in season 2. They owe us a sweet forehead kiss dang it!!
lulupony:I disagree with you in that I don't think CX would ever be able to find his Jing,
That.. is so depressing to think about. I can imagine that, but I don't think it's the anonymity afforded to XY and not CX. He did wander the world for 200 years pretending that he's not a prince. But unlike XY he was actually busy, learning things, cultivating his people and building his power. But even then, if only he was fated enough to meet someone like Jing for himself. Maybe for him, his mind was always focus on something else so he must have missed all the opportunities. I think in the book, he said he realized his love for CX as a man-woman when he saw her return back to being a woman. I think he was always so focused minded on XY that he didn't let himself see anything else.
