Helloo, I wanted to ask if you can recommend me some dramas with a specific request.

So I am watching Sh**ting Stars right now and I absolutely love it  (Up to episode 7) and what I adore most currently are the friendships and the dynamic between the characters.

That's why I'm searching something similar, but I have some requests and I hope you guys can help me with that.

So I definitely want multiple mains and multiple couples.

Friendship is really important too! Bromance, Sismance and friendship between male and female is much needed!

And the most important part, which I think is also the hardest: The friendship (especially between male and female) should stay the same, even when the characters get partners. I don't like it, when the characters distance themselfs so much from each other and just because they got a partner, the friendship gets ruined. I want the characters to stay friends!

So in short:

  • Multiple mains and multiple couples
  • A lot of friendship
  • Characters (M&F) should stay friends even after getting a partner

I am open to any country!

Hi (≧∇≦)ノ
I haven't watched a lot, but a few might hit the right spot. Addition to that: I have watched Sh**ting Stars and can give you a reassuring spoiler of the friendship trio: it stays intact with a fun teasing when it evolves to multiple couples.  I think only nr 3 is on your PTW if I didn't miss one.
Now be aware that every one of these hits one or more of your picky list in some way. For instance of how a couple starts off with one of them but with backstory for it, it seems like something but in fact isn't, or just your own preference and perception.

In order of multiple mains and couples (with friendships). Ranking from most to least fitting:

  1.  Between Us (thai) - focus wise for following multiple couples and encapsulating the friendships it tops them all. BUT it is a sequel. However, totally okay as a stand alone and I watched it before the other one. Friendships and couples that have support and love all way round. Most friendship and couple intertwined wholesome wise. TW: trauma (undiagnosed? ptsd) more specific: drowning
  2.  Until We Meet Again (thai) - the main story to nr 1 (parent story). Even though it only says two mains, and is mostly focused on those two, the others have their place and the friendship binds them all toghether. Most "classic" romance. TW: suicide
  3.  At a Distance, Spring Is Green (kor) - no truly multiple couples, but multiple mains with really lovely friendships SPOILER (small and no specifics): and some bad ones plus hard challenges with different outcomes. Most slice of life/coming of age with mains who tackle different things in life. TW: abuse (mostly physical), not between leads or couples + other physical violence (far in between)
  4.  Only Friends (thai) - has the most mains and couples (feels like every one has some kind of relationship with another character), but the friendships isn't as stable as the others and also used as a plotline, therefore the low ranking. Most dramatic and all over the place with feelings. Pretty grafic, but iirc not too extreme TW : mentions of overdose and suicide + actions towards suicide CW (content warning): heavy drinking, smoking, drugs, violence, sexual, nudity.
  • Bonus for multiple couples (one main and other sides): KinnPorsche (thai). A drama in the world of mafia and all that comes with it, but has some more normal elements too. I don't remember much from it as it wasn't a favorite, but is praised by many. But really an adult drama so to speak. TW: violence, guns, abuse, death, rape, kidnapping, blood. CW: smoking, drinking, drugs, sexual, nudity.

In ranking of good friendships focused: 1. Between us  2. At a Distance, Spring Is Green  3. Until we meet again  4. Only friends.
Ranking based on your bio: 1. Between us.  2. At a distance, spring is green  3. Until we meet again. 4. Only friends.
Personal ranking: 1. Between us. 2. At a distance...... 3. Only friends. 4. Until we.....

Oh my, I had more so much to say without actually saying anything haha... Maybe someone catches your eye (and doesn't end up on the on-hold list). For more info, spoiler or discussion, send a message. For those that come across this and have watched any of these: If something is missing or incorrect (like the tw) send me a message.

p.s. If someone finds this but wants only friendships or minimal romance this thread have suggestions, but it's a mixture of two classical mains or more.

Thank you so much for your detailed recommendations. I really appreciate it! ^^

Thanks for also checking my bio and reading my picky list, haha. I might have missed writing, that I don't like watching stuff with sensual content in it. So three of the ones you mentioned, I cannot watch.

I really really wanted multiple couples, so  At a Distance, Spring Is Green  is not the drama I am looking for right now, but if the characters that are friends stay friends from the beginning till the end and don't develop romantic feelings for each other, I think I can definitely watch it, because that's such a cute dynamic.

And I wanted to ask you something: In  Sh**ting Stars  does the the restaurant guy that Park Ho Yeong brings to the entertainment get an happy ending? I'm currently episode 9 and it seems like he is developing feelings towards Ho Yeong and that would break my heart T_T Because I know she ends up with Kang Yoo Sung! I addition: I cannot believe they make a  love triangle for the secondary couple?!

Ah, no it seems more like I skipped that one in the list, or just interpreted it more as a graphic one (like kinnporsche or only friends would be). I find it hard to get multiple mains and couples if one of them isn't starting of or mostly focuses on the sexual content. From that, maybe Moonlight Chicken is a better alternative. No graphic sexual conent, although implicating lovemaking so to speak, with a few kisses here and there mostly if that's ok for your standards. Still multiple couples/relationsships, but has a focus on the two mains. Cute romance with adults and teens represention with love, angst and cuteness between them. Also to the side of slice of life, but as said, more romance to it.
Or if you can live through a love triangle for a bit (resolves before ending) with meddling, but a ton of friendships your PTW and loved Twinkling Watermelon may fit more. I didn't include it for the reason that it takes a while to get to multiple couples and is a bit complicated with relationships. But for the friendship and lighthearted-ness it's a funny lovely drama with some tearjerking bits in it.

Hmm well for At a distance, spring is green two of the mains do get together but their friendship isn't any different to be honest. And it's from the start it happens so no building up to it or a breaking point. The mains stay friends and almost everything wraps up in a pretty accepting bow at the end, with only a few side characters who doesn't get the happy ending, but in my opinion a good ending.

Spoiler for question on Sh**ting stars: he does develope feelings, but iirc doesn't articulate them to Ho Yeong at any time. He sees where her interest lies and at silent defeat he (further spoiler) ...dedicates himself to becoming a better actor, and gets advice from another one in the agency.

Thank you again, I usually despise love triangles, because the SML is always so pitiful and doesn't get an happy ending. I'm more a fan of love squares(?) with 2 male leads and 2 female leads, but I want to give Twinkling Watermelon a chance^^

Ohh, that's a shame! So no real happy ending for my poor baby :(

But thank youuu, I will definitely try some of your recommendations :)

Lovely Us  - it's about 5 friends, and the group remain close for the entire drama. There are two couples (one is endgame, the other open).

Thank you so much!

For dramas that emphasize strong friendships and multiple mains, consider "My Mister" for its deep, evolving character dynamics. "Hello, Me!" showcases enduring friendships and relationships, while "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo" balances romantic and platonic bonds with great character interactions. "Navillera" also highlights heartfelt friendships and personal growth. This series should offer the camaraderie and relationship stability you're looking for. I am a gambler recently, I thought to try a new platform and I came across Vulkan Vegas while browsing for reputable online casinos. The detailed information provided helped me understand the bonuses and promotions available. I’ve since tried it out and can confirm that it’s as good as it sounds—great game options and a smooth interface make it a top pick for me.
