Dramas you would/would not recommend on my watchlist

Hi, 

I try to reduce my watchlist a bit and wanted to ask for your advice. Most of them are K-Dramas with a bit of Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Taiwan. 

Have you watched a drama/movie from my watchlist and would not recommend it? 

Or is there a drama/movie on my list I should definitely watch? 

Please share your opinion and tell me why you like or dislike it without major spoilers (unless I ask for them). ;)

Dramas on your list that I've seen and would recommend would be:

You're All Surrounded   (<---one of my absolute favorites.)

W   (<---this one caught me by surprised with how much I liked it.)

Her Private Life   (<---Just a cute/fun time.)


A movie I would recommend is:

My P.S. Partner   (<---I just remember this being really funny)


Ones I wouldn't recommend/would say be wary of :

Falling for Innocence   (<---I just remember something about the romance disturbing me enough to drop the drama.)

Fated to Love You   (<---From what I remember about halfway/two-thirds in, it just stops being a good time and in general is very tropey.)

Empress Ki is very good but also depressing. If you're in the mood for an epic/tragedy, I'd watch that. For something fluffy, I am not a Robot and Itazura na Kiss: Love in Tokyo are both cute. W is really good, but also a bit slow at times. The Legend of the Blue Sea was a little lacking for me and I ended up dropping it

I HATED Bromance, the stupidest gender-swap Drama I've ever seen. After I watched it I saw Megan Lai in Fagara, and saw how VERY easily she can look naturally androgynous, which just made the " a dead blind person can tell she's a a she" of Bromance all the more annoying.

One TW Drama on your list I would DEFINITELY recommend is MARS - all kinds of awesome, a must-see IMO.  And from the Mainland, in a very different genre, Le Coup de Foudre is possibly one of the sweetest Dramas EVAH. That it is apparently at least semi-autobiographical  makes it even better. :)

MUST WATCH:

  • Legend of Fu Yao (epic historical)
  • I'm Not a Robot (cute, funny, romantic too)
  • Love & Destiny (epic historical)
  • Strong Woman Do Bong Soon (SO funny & cute!)
  • W (truly unique storyline and so well acted)
  • Mr. Sunshine (great historical but you will cry yours eyes out for days)

I would PASS on or put off until later:

  • Cheese in the Trap (mess of a storyline with unlikeable characters)
  • Obsessed (just boring show with boring sex)
  • The Handmaiden (love it or hate it. kind of twisted for sure)

This sounds like My Country which I watch. I'll go for it and take it easy while watching so I don't depressed by the tragedy. :) Will also try The Legend of the Blue Sea and see if I'll also drop it.

My recommendation to watch would be Thirty but Seventeen. I really enjoyed it. The FL was absolutely lovable.

You could probably do without watching Oh my Emperor. Sure it's a little funny but the constant product placements and the dissatisfying and and cliched ending ruins the whole drama. Plus the FL was a little annoying.
