Hello guys, I had a major challenge in 2019 that I was not able to resolve and so around the end of december I had decided that I wouldn't watch any korean drama until I had succeeded in the challenge. For honesty's sake, I must admit that I did cheat and watched one kdrama, I think around the month of June.

Anyway, now I've conquered that challenge (yeehee!!) and I'm free to binge on all the kdrama I want. Except, I don't know where to start. So here's where you my fellow dramalister come in: would you please recommend a 2020 (or end of 2019) drama for me to get my toes wet again?

I'd be immensely grateful. I don't have much requirement, except that I have a preference for happy endings, or really deserved open endings.

Well, welcome back to the k-trap (i guess lol)! I just had a quick look at your watched and plan to watch dramas and seems like we kinda share the same taste in dramas (except for the dramas with LGBTQ+ tags that I didn't see on your list I think). If you like, you can have a look at my watch-list.

But if I have to suggest personally, these were my favorites in 2020 (in no particular order):

  1. 18 Again
  2. It's Okay to Not Be Okay
  3. Dinner Mate
  4. Mystic Pop-Up Bar
  5. Itaewon Class
  6. To All The Guys Who Loved Me
  7. Koi wa Tsuzuku yo Doko Made mo
  8. Flower of Evil (on the heavier side)
  9. Memorist
  10. My Holo Love
  11. Tale of the Nine-Tailed
  12. Find Me in Your Memory
  13. Zombie Detective
  14. Watashitachi wa Douka Shiteiru (on the heavier side)
  15. Into the Ring
  16. Good Casting
  17. Nobody Knows (on the heavier side)
  18. Girl Next Room Series
  19. XX
  20. When the Weather Is Fine (slow-burn romance)

Please bear in mind that I haven't watched every single drama from 2020. These were my faves among the dramas I finished watching and had happy endings! ^^

Aside from the dramas above:

- Graceful Family (a makjang for sure but is super good regardless)

- A piece of your mind (12 eps more relaxing than suspenseful)

- Birthcare center (mini 8 eps- funny watch but also deals with some slightly heavy topics of motherhood)

- Find me in Your memory(if you like a piece of your mind you might like this too- Melo and relaxing with an interesting plot)

- doctor romantic 2 (medical drama, romance)

- lie after lie (romance, mystery, hidden identity, suspense, kinda flower of evil vibes)

- queen of love and war ( romance, historical, hidden identity)

- rookie historian Goo Hae Ryung (historical, empowering, romance)

Currently airing:

- True beauty

- Mr. Queen

- Penthouse ( a makjang)

**All of these have romance in it

other than the dramas already recommended i would like to suggest

  • hospital playlist (personally , my favorite drama of the year)
  • crash landing on you
  • how to buy a friend
  • meow , the secret boy
  • more than friends
  • the school nurse files

The Wolf

Crash landing on you

True Beauty

I've been in a slump too since I only had a few favourite kdramas this year. The ones I will recommend are Kingdom season 2 (if you watched the first one already), The World of the Married, My Dangerous Wife & Zombie Detective. For an older drama, Gu Family Book was addicting for me and also brought me out of a drama slump when I was bored of everything else nowadays.

Crash Landing on You (as mentioned by others), Dating in the Kitchen, Her Private Life, Hotel Del Luna, Touch Your Heart, The Secret Life of My Secretary, Romance is a Bonus Book, Mystic Pop Up Bar, XX.
