Drama where FL hurts ML at starting when she misunderstands him but then when truth come out she regrets and try to make amends.

Ex. My Strange Hero

I can’t think of any that fit that exact description, but these are really close:

  • My Sunshine - all the facets you’re looking for are there — misunderstanding (she thought he meant it when he said he didn’t want to see her again), her leaving & hurting him, eventually coming back, the misunderstanding being resolved & her making amends.
  • Le Coup de Foudre - really similar to the previous recommendation in having a similar trajectory, except she doesn’t necessarily misunderstand him (maybe misunderstands to what extent he actually liked her) but leaves & hurts him and comes back and tries to make amends.
  • Reply 1997 - this one is a little bit different: she misunderstands him (their ‘friendship’) for the first portion of the drama and hurts him seemingly beyond repair about halfway through and he leaves. They meet again in young adulthood and she tries to make amends as she now understands her own feelings. Although the ‘event’ happens about halfway through, it’s in the past. There are three timelines: 90s (when they’re in middle & high school), 00s (meet again) & present day where the story is being told in retrospect (2010s).
  • My Daughter Seoyoung - this fulfills some of your criteria, FL hurts ML, she regrets it & tries to make amends. None of it was a misunderstanding on her part about him, but her actions that misled him. The hurtful event happens (somewhat) close to the beginning but is only found out later on.

I have seen my sunshine and le coup de foudre...and as for 'reply 1997'...argh not a fan of love triangl

It's a Chinese drama, the male lead is the one in my profile haha. It's called Ashes of Love, FL killed and betrayed ML then paid a heavy price to make amends for what she has done. It's angsty.

Also, if you are worried because it has a love triangle tag, the FL don't love SML even a little bit, she gave him no chance at all throughout the entire series. The only one she lets her touch her is the ML and no one else. You will get why there's a love triangle tag if you watch further and you will understand it why it has in the first place.

Thanks for the rec...I will try to watch even though I am not a fan of historical dramas!

The love triangles in the entire Reply series are more like bait by the story to make it a ‘husband game’/less predictable in general, esp in 97 there is never really a chance that FL reciprocates SML’s feelings

You are very much welcome! I'm glad you liked it.

Soundtrack #1:

FL kinda rejects ML. He leaves (timeskip) and returns. She misses and realize she likes him and then tries to win him over.

She would never know:

ML chases FL in the first part of the drama, wins her over and they date. Towards the back end, she breaks up with him and he’s hurt (time skip). Then it’s her turn to chase him back. Personal favorite.

Love and redemption (fantasy drama):

ML always helped FL from the beginning. Because of misunderstandings and other things, she betrays him. She realizes she was at fault and she works, like really works to win him back.

I had a whole list of these types of plots in my notes but I lost it, somehow. lol. If I remember I’ll come back.

I'm Not a Robot.

The Secret Life of My Secretary - she tricks him by dating him under a false identity and making him fall in love with her and later regrets it

A Business Proposal - very similar plotline to SLOMS but is resolved a lot faster

Crazy Love - also a secretary taking revenge on her overbearing boss by tricking him after he loses his memory

 iii:

call it love

Call it love, My Mister

Introverted boss…..

Think these types of series are not real. Normal men who get dumped if it is strong enough, then it will do everything to make her regret it, go to the gym, spend more on career development and also improve himself in several areas.

But such men in reality usually also get more choices in life among women, and when they break up with their ex, they usually realize that they don't give a damn about her.

Women do the same, men who dump women normally improve in areas that the reason she was dumped go for another partner.

Women don't want men who they can trick, or men who don't dare to leave these, they usually don't have high respect for such men,  who do not dare to leave women, have real problems probably lie in the fear that it can not find someone else. Precisely for the number of sexual partners, women normally have predominantly more choices than men, but as real partners through life, I probably don't think the choices are as big a gap between men and women.

Men who also grow up with a single mother, are also men who normally get cheated on the most because they don't think women can do it and dosent se warnings singals.

Only weak individuals would lay down on the sofa or bed and mourn for months and become a real loser and wake up and realize that it has fewer opportunities to choose a partner than it had before.

So when i watch regrets dramas, it relly has to happen that they dont end up with echo other, but they rater find another partner some is more in line with themself and are more competebel with echo other is more releastic frome the world prespetives how it relly works.
