Good Romance!

I can't move on from LBFAD! 

I  watched the first ep of The Blue Whisper...and idk what I expected, but that was not that. the FL don't sell it to me, the places looks so fake? 

Then I  watched the first ep of Who Rules the World.

 none of the leads have gives off a powerful vibe? Much less an "oww they can and will Rule the World" vibes. But the bed with a pillow in a cave was what made me nope out. 

I watched the first ep of LLTG, I like Wu Lei and everyone recommends that for LBFAD fans! 

I went in blind (I thought it was fantasy), it was ok....then I read the Synopsis on Viki and I hate it! Why make the lead falls in love for no reason??? 

And I read a comment that they barely spend any time together? it must be a good period drama, a good production and all, but not what the ones missing DFQC/XLH wants. This one I will keep on my ptw list, I love this kind of drama, politics, revenge, etc...not what I wanted NOW. 

Not even Wang Yibo can make me get to episode 3 of LoF. ;_; 

LBFAD broke me, I don't even LIKE romance!!! 

I always avoid romance I prefer a good bromance, good action and politics....

So why I'm here looking for good romance recs??? What kind of sorcery is this?

What I love about LBFAD romance and what I want?  

• First it avoids the love at first sight trope, it is a slow build as they get to know and trust each other.
• They never hurt/punish/betray/cheat the other or any other thing that is expected of them.
• I love the character growth of all the character! And this drama have LOTS of it for everyone.
• I hate misunderstanding/ melodrama /evil SML/SFL and this drama have none of this.
• I hate the type of Love Triangle that one of the leads really loves SL and don't know who they love more.
• I need a happy ending, even if it is the last minute... I need it!

That said, please do not rec the likes of Eternal Love CP, that is the opposite of what I want!(spoilers) The ML rapes the FL, takes her eyes out, she kills herself because she is broken inside, not a sacrifice out of love.

I don't like modern set.

I prefer Fantasy and Chinese.

But I will try anything if the CP and the romance is similar to LBFAD.

Please give me some drama recommendations!

I found "Love by Hypnotic" had a similar vibe to LBFAD, including male lead who doesn't know his own feelings, slow developing romance, sizzling chemistry, a bit of angst and a bit of magic:

So I gave up in find anything like LBFAD,
now I'm watching Douluo Continent, action, fantasy, adventure, friendship...short episodes, and it is decent good for distraction, I need to change my focus from romance or I will not enjoy any other drama XD

For what it counts I remember one or two steamy scenes in Love by Hypnotic, which comes after a lot of buildup and ends in "and they sank onto the bed, literal curtain drop". There is one episode before that where the ML friends joke about how the ML is very innocent and too stoic to do anything with his wife. 

I don't mind a bit of steam if it matches the story, but LbH is just saved as cute in my memory, because ML is shy, not under hot-ish.

To include some warning about the Eternal Love then based on your criteria, the SML and SFLs are a bit evil, the ML and FL lie to and trick each other a few times in the beginning, and there are a few misunderstandings (including the ML mistakenly thinking the FL betrayed him), but they are resolved fairly quickly. Also season 1 ends with a cliffhanger, but there are two more seasons and the full arc ends happily.

In the Eternal Love, the FL (Xiao Tan) is from modern times, but her soul ends up in the body of a noblewoman (Qu Tan Er) in a parallel world similar to ancient China. Xiao Tan is loud and brash, especially compared to the demure and well-mannered Tan Er, and she has a more modern perspective on intimacy. In Tan Er's body, she is forced to marry the ML. After getting to know each other a bit (but before fully falling for each other), the leads kiss and sleep together. The FL agrees to sleep with the ML in order to get something she wants. They fully fall for each other shortly after and there are lots of kisses and a few more sex scenes. But all of the "sex" scenes are really just scenes where it's clear that the leads are going to have sex, without actually depicting anything risqué. The scenes all cut off or fade to black well before their clothes come off.

The Eternal Love also had a limited budget, especially in the first season, so some of the costumes (14th prince...) are not high quality, but tbh the campiness is part of the fun. 

Not all in your list. 

But I really loved that drama.  Many matching what you wanted. 

It is not too sweet, but keeping you interested every moment  from first 10 min of watching.

I wish I could forget it and rewatch again :)

Its better to watch something totally different but i can recommend you some historical fantasy chinese dramas: Ice fantasy, Once upon a time in lingjian mountain, The legends, The romance between tiger and rose, Ashes of love, Immortal samsara, Love and redemption, Novoland: Castle in the sky, Novoland: Castle in the sky 2, Legend of white snake, Destiny of white snake, Love by hypnotic, Sleepless princess and so on. I could recommend you more but i think its enough, i loved all of these and i have also watched Love between fairy and devil like you. I cant say that these dramas have all these points you mentioned but LBFAD also have love triangle and its not true that they never hurt each other.

Agreed,  I'm changing my focus from romance, so I can like it in other dramas..in a distant future.

XLH know whom she loves, she never has doubts 'oh should I be with CH'. kind of thing.
at the start like the other Fairies she had a crush on the God Of War.

Well, to me they never do.
They never choose to hurt the other to appease someone else.
each of them hurt (or try to hurt)the other one time and that really is the only/best option.

DFQC only hope was for XLH stop loving him, he was not really going to sacrificing her.

XLH come back just to die, so she choose to not let him know she was really back.

And it is very fast, no dragging for many episodes, and neither of them felt that they were really betrayed,  imo neither believed the other lies, they knew they had a reason.

Most of the recs here have bad/sad ending, so not for me.
the ones that have good end I may put on my list!

Only Ice fantasy and Destiny of white snake have bad ending but even if i knew that before starting watching it, i still would watch it because i love it, sometimes i am rewatching it.
