ML Forcing kiss directly to FL on 1st ep. When he didn't even know about her Relationship status whether she is single or in relationship. Even she was single was it okay to kiss her without her concent?

Definitely wasn't okay, by any means. However, he's pretty respectful of her throughout the rest of the series (as far as I remember), so I could overlook it.

Even I was thinking about this. How it is so unconvincing to kiss someone without the other person's consent and knowing about the relationship status. Even if he is a male lead he should respect other's boundaries and he even mentioned that he wanted to sleep with her. In reality if someone will do this he will be considered a real psycho 😂. But it was really a turn off for me to see something like this in the very first episode.

Very true, I was completely shocked at that as well, but it does explain a bit since he is indeed a bit psycho, since he had a tough childhood, and apparently he didn't have any friends and was completely engrossed in medical stuff.  Someone who topped the board exam of the whole country definitely will not be rational or normal, hence his straightforwardness is justified a bit.

Not only that moment, but I found several moments where I found ML doing stupid stuff, but the positive character of FL kinda just balances the whole thing and nothing looks out of place in the end.

Older kdramas often normalize and romanticize things like this, including wrist-grabbing, although 2016 isn't that old either. But turns out similar thing happened in S2, so it's the writer's mentality I guess.

Making the ML being respectful for the rest of the show (actually not really, he asks her to sleep with her) I don't think it's better, only further proves the problematic side because that's when they normalize the kiss, making it just another pre-relationship bickering between the couple since the ML is a good man. Of course a ML will be described with positive characterize. Different with the senior doctor who kicks the FML, he's a jerk, a villain, beside his act is indeed an assault, people will have no problem to found the act as a bad thing.

I am fan of ML from hospital playlist  that's why i started this drama but 1st ep forced kiss scene was totally turn off for me that's why i dropped it without watching next eps..maybe some year later

that was sexual harassment and they normalized it ! the ML continues his obsessed with FL through the series anyway. getting jealous and question any contact she has with men directly and with anger without even being her boyfriend and she is so coy and shy when it comes to men (moon dr. and ML)  this is it even when they portray an strong fl yet she won't talk over her men.

misogyny!

Without her consent? I suggest you re-watch that episode. She never struggled, turned her head away, or even said, "Stop." She accepted it. Both times! Now, if you ever grab an American girl by the wrist, you'd better duck because she's going to hit you.

The funny part was Doctor Yun getting upset and flustered (upset with herself for allowing it to happen and also for liking it!). If her "relationship" status was that important to her, she never would have allowed that kiss to happen...either time!

A "forced" kiss would be the ML forcing a kiss on her even when she's trying to either fight him off or saying, "No! Stop!" That never happened.

I had the same response, that scene in Ep1/S1 put me off too. I only watch the first series after having watch the  second one and liking it a lot, and thinking I should see the first one too.

I actually thought that their budding attraction was very believable and handled rather well in the first episode. They're not in high school, both adults in their 20s, and what they very obviously did was flirting. It may have been subtle, but even FLs friend caught on it and teased her for it. So while ML was definitely impulsive, it wasn't entirely out of the blue. After he stops her from leaving/grabs her wrist (it didn't look forceful to me btw), they look at each other for several moments in close proximity before he kisses her. She could have stopped him at any time, turned away or told him, 'no' very clearly. Even though she breaks the kiss momentarily, her confusion upon wavering is apparent, and she kisses him back. As she is leaving she tells him 'I have a boyfriend', but he doesn't believe her, because she reciprocated the kiss. Telling her boldly that he wants to sleep with her, is definitely unprecedented in K-drama land, and it would definitely count as sexual harassment had they not just made out in a backroom in the hospital lol And that steamy kiss, was very obviously mutual. I mean, yeah, he's extremely straight forward in sharing his attraction, but I've honestly seen and heard much worse in real life. He doesn't get handsy. It is obvious he thinks she is single and lied about having a boyfriend, until the car stops by to pick her up, btw.

So while I think he does have an infatuation with her and boldly and somewhat childishly goes after her, I don't see it as a big issue as far as consent goes. Literally none of the guys I've been with have asked me 'is it okay for me to kiss you', before our first kiss, nor have I, if I was the one initiating. I mean, most kisses just happen in the mood. Obviously you should be able to read your partner and give them time to pull back if they're not on board, but 'asking' for permission seems somewhat strange to me.

Wrote comment in 2021 ...3 years and still didn't watched drama ...like I just dropped it and never picked up It was the comment after watching dramas for maybe 1 yr and now I watched dramas more than 4 year so maybe I can watch it with different point of view like yours ...I don't know it felt forced to me that time...but now bcoz of watching so many forced kiss in dramas i think I can see it as normal maybe I watch it in future...never know 😂

Ah, please don't get me wrong, I am of course against forcing kisses or intimacy, I just think it depends on the situation and here I could see that she liked him, but it was a very sudden move on his part. And of course she was in a relationship, so she likely felt extremely troubled that she was swayed by him. That's what she tells the doctor in the car when he proposes to her. In any case, if you feel like giving it another chance, it's a great drama and the ML is very respectful to FL overall, romance is also not the main focus at all. But if you cannot get into it, it's not a big deal, everyone has different opinions.

Okay thanks btw i like Ml that's the main reason i wanted to watch 🙈 i'll try sometime... currently in love with Chinese dramas these days😁😌
