But in the drama I believe it will be even better, because there is more plot and the complexity of the plot is better explored in the drama.
And about the ending. In the book, there is a happy ending, yes, and I hope it is maintained, but with a change (I hope they look into each other's eyes when they are awake and he sees that she has returned. He waits for her, but when she arrives, he is asleep, worried, agonized, worried that he found her and she did not wake up. But when she wakes up, she does not warn him. So she tells someone not to wake Yuan Zhong. And that is the end. (In the anime, this point was also improved, they see each other, they are happy to meet again). I hope that in the drama this change correcting this scene happens.
