What I'm Watching Possibly Right As You're Reading This

I thought this drama would be good, but damn, it's actually fine as hell! From the cinematography and the dark, hidden secret haunting Key to the icy allure of Chan and, of course, the sultry looks, honeyed words, and steamy chemistry between the FLs!

I blushed! And blushed! And by the time I'd just barely recovered, I was back to blushing like a damn fool again! As a viewer, I felt like I was being aggressively flirted with at every angle, and I am not clever enough to stutter out a response to this level of flirting! Your girl has weak knees and can only handle so much!

I adored EmiBonnie in "Us" and thought they were deadly charming there, but dear Lord, what did they put in the water to make them serve SO hard here?!

What did I say? SeaKeen and school BLs just work! Somehow, they make it feel fresh every time! They just got that bright "spark" to them!

I love how, for lack of a better phrase, "true to one's youth," this drama is so far. How monumental figuring out what you like/want feels like when you're in school, especially when everyone else seems to have it figured out.

They showcased this well with the "ordinary" life Niran finds himself trapped in: "My life is just like a dark universe. Pitch black."

Niran's school days and pressure-filled mornings with his dad are framed as rinse-and-repeat, like he's going through the motions, going along with whatever's happening and trying to act like he's not upset he can't find it within himself to care.

And then the universe plops him into Cheewa A.K.A. Galaxy Junior's lap, and he spouts something "weird" and rambling about gravity to him, and Niran's just kind of dumbfounded but also kind of curious.

What is this? Interest in something? Hmmm . . .

And after they meet again and again, that curiosity appears to be beginning to grow. And with the weird things this nerd says to him, it's no wonder!

I love how socially awkward yet lowkey direct Cheewa is in his own way! You just have to "speak his language" to get it. Lol.

You know, I'm really reminded of 23.5 with the tie-ins to the universe, unique styling, and relatable awkwardness. Hopefully, they stick the landing and don't end up having a final conflict that leaves a bad taste in my mouth like in 23.5. Still bummed by that!

This is the kind of supernatural drama I like to see. Mainly grounded but still otherworldly. Giving you just enough but not spoon-feeding everything to you. I had to consider the powers for myself, their scale and visibility.

I like the way they're dropping us into the characters' senses, too. The tingling offness, spikes in adrenaline, and quiet surety.

The music is taking away rather than adding to scenes for me, though.

As for the two MLs' blossoming relationship, have you ever seen subtle chemistry? Like, really good, easy, subtle chemistry? Because these two had it from the start!

James waltzed in with this too-good-for-you air to him, dismissing everyone until he heard tell of the dedicated man who occupied the empty desk across from his, someone finally worth his time. By the time he came face to face with Ken and was subsequently pinned down and pushed out by him, I could tell that beneath his cockyness and demands lay some real admiration and fascination.

And Ken, while being dismissive and giving away very little, carries himself in such a coldly purposeful manner as to make every action of his feel intentional. Thus, the smallest bit of leeway or attention carries a deeper meaning. Side Note: I'm really enjoying the way Tongtong is playing this character!

And the tension is tensioning through their eyes and lingering presence. Leaning just a little closer to whisper or conveniently look past the other at something, initiating a high-intensity stare-down/refusing to break eye contact for anything.

I feel that if they continue taking their time as they are, the mystery and the romance will both progress naturally.

It is fantastic! It's steamy attraction at first sight!

The set-up is perfect, the cinematography is gorgeous, and you already KNOW the chemistry is out of this world because it's got WilliamEst!!!

They packed a lot of background and hints of things to come in just this first episode!

I think it was an interesting choice to simultaneously show the front-facing view of the pitch of these dramas coming down the pipeline and practiced lines/poses/fanservice of its stars sure to get their fans excited and keep them devoted, along with the behind-the-scenes, and less glamorous/natural aspects; the infighting between fans, rush for cheap merch, toxic solo stanning, hidden rivalry/tension between actors, and pressure to push a believable, popular narrative in order to make numbers A.K.A. trend.

I'm sure this will comment on the industry while also playing into it.

As for the actors, I was excited to see what Save and Auau could do after the promise they showed in Your Sky. And, in my opinion, the bathroom scene alone in this first episode showed they have what it takes to keep you engaged in a scene with minimal material.

I also have to say, my goodness, is it nice to see James in a main role again! He's already selling me on how Nine puts on a nice act for the fans, cameras, and people on set, playing into this charming golden-boy persona.

All in all, it's a strong start to such an anticipated series!

From the first shot of this drama, you know you're in for love and pain.

We forget that Romeo and Juliet is a story of a love that burns bright for a short while, only to ultimately end tragically for the pair.

Maybe Juliet & Juliet A.K.A. Tokyo & Blue won't meet the same sad end, but at the very least, we know their families will do anything they can to tear them apart and hurt the children they ought to cherish.

I thought the introduction of both leads and the setup of their struggles, future family conflicts, and growing feelings were handled very well.

The cinematography is also stunning! I was in awe of many shots/scenes.

It's giving Queendom meets ClaireBell, which, if you know anything about my thoughts on those two dramas, you'd know they're quality!

I feel safe letting myself be excited!

Damn! I don't even know where to begin! It's just good!

The sets are being utilized well; the action is good, and the zombies are legitimately a threat; the eerie quiet and loneliness of this "fallen" world hit; and I'm rooting for everyone to stay alive, holding my breath, waiting for a zombie horde to take everyone I care about away from me.

And the tension is tensioning with the leads!

Who knew what I needed was a zombie apocalypse BL in my life!

Ooooooh! The tension was tensioning, and the chemistry was REALLY chemistrying! And we're just on episode one!!! The way Jane's eyelashes were involuntarily fluttering when Jane Patrick entered his space was simply so sweet.

You get the sense that Jane Patrick has a real interest in Jane as a person, but also . . . An obsession. Push him, and he's likely to snap!

I wonder if maybe just maybe we're actually getting the fantasy element of this that the pilot promised. Certain things seemed out of the ordinary/not like pure coincidences . . . The trailer seemed to suggest otherwise, though. I wonder . . .
