MLs emotionlessness & FL's face blindness are tied to what happened to MLs mom during childhood.

FL saved ML from being bullied by his older prince brothers when they were young kids.  ML remembered FL did not.  ML waited till end of drama gave her a letter.

ML & FL met at orphanage where ML lived & FL's mom volunteered plus a few other times. FL never remembered.

ML met FL briefly when around 9 yrs old at hospital. Their meeting made him become a teacher even though he was destined to be mensa genius doing research.

FL baby meets ML as toddler. Elder separates them due to curse.
