Kiira (Mirei Kiritani) seems like an ordinary young girl, who likes to talk with her friends and to dress up. Her ultimate goal is to become the world's best baker, but what differentiates her from others is that she is a vampire. She has never told anyone her secret, including her childhood friend Tetsu, whom she played with everyday and liked as a child. After her parents died when Kiira was only12-years-old, she had to go live with her relatives and lost contact with Tetsu.
Now, 8 years later, Tetsu appears at the bakery where Kiira is working part-time. Kiira is ecstatic to see her first love again. Soon, they are dating and Kiira dreams of having a family with Tetsu. Kiira also becomes filled with worries because she is vampire.
Cast & Credits
This girl vampire is cute. If there were no story/plot, it's just worth it watching it for the girl alone. (Of course, for our female readers, the guy she fell in love with is also a hunk).
Story is a bit melodramatic, with main melodramatic element borrowed from Superman II. Remember that scene when Supes/Clark kisses Lois and erases her memory? Well, you find a similar plot device here at the climax. And it elicited no sympathy from me. I could smell the melodrama in it from a mile away.
Other than that, the plot is very light-hearted with the occasional slapstick humor mixed in. If you're looking for a movie where vampires duke it out with other vampires/vampire hunters, this isn't it. Whatever action scenes are featured in this movie are almost nil.
In terms of re-watch value, well I wouldn't mind. It has a lot of "kawaii / kakkoii" moments/situations that are worth revisiting...
The story is easy to follow and really lighthearted. Nothing complicated or action filled here, just grab a cup of tea and enjoy this cheesy melodrama, just don't have any expectations. This is a movie you can watch without your full attention. They added the vampire part in to make it seem interesting, but it would have a good job without it.
The cast and acting was fine, nothing to write big about it was just enough for this movie. The main-leads are adorable to watch.
The music was okay and I might rewatch this movie when I feel bored.
Watch this if you are looking for a lighthearted, easy to follow, cheesy melodrama.
Skip this if you want an action packed, emotional, vampire-hunting movie.
