  • The Penthouse: War in Life

    1. The Penthouse: War in Life

    Korean Drama - 2020, 21 episodes

The Penthouse: War in Life is a makjang drama that focuses on the lives of women who would do anything for their children with real estate, education, and power as the topics in this drama. Makjang dramas tend to be unrealistic with many shocking plot twists and suspense. This drama is best enjoyed for viewers looking for melodrama 2.0 and the story is best understood by relaxing any realistic thoughts. Fans of Kim Soon Ok's writing will definitely enjoy this masterpiece of a drama. - u/dramafan1

  • Shining Inheritance

    2. Shining Inheritance

    Korean Drama - 2009, 28 episodes

Shining Inheritance - This can be considered makjang-lite. It has amnesia, evil rich people drama and lots and lots of makjang level chaos. You can also look forward to this for its cast and the comedy. It starts off a bit slow but it gets better with time. Loved the characters and the bonding and this was an entertaining drama. - u/Fatooz

  • Mine

    3. Mine

    Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes

Mine - Another makjang-lite drama but has birth secrets, evil rich people drama, suspense and lots of rich people drama. Has quite some frustrating characters but the women of this drama shone! Loved each and every women except for the grandmother and the daughter. Considering this was a makjang I enjoyed it even though I'm not a fan of this genre. The suspense keeps you hooked throughout and although it isn't the best of the dramas it still is worth the watch. - u/Fatooz

  • The Heirs

    4. The Heirs

    Korean Drama - 2013, 20 episodes

The Heirs - Makjang-lite but has birth secrets and evil rich people drama. A high school rom-com which is definitely not to be taken seriously. Just switch off your brain cells and enjoy this for what it is. - u/Fatooz

  • No Matter What

    5. No Matter What

    Korean Drama - 2020, 120 episodes

No Matter What (Anyone Says) - Long weekend drama (50 hours) Fairly normal family of two divorcees, each with a grown daughter whose jobs are both in TV media. Happy, until wife's ex moves back to SK, and he ends up being the new boss of the husband. Throw in a couple of up-and-coming entrepreneurs who both like one of the daughters (for romantic interest). Birth secrets, everyone related to each other, cross-dressing, loan sharks, kidnapping,  and a couple of people who have no moral standards except for what will benefit themselves. Much to do with the consequences of a one-night stand. - u/LcLou02
