Recommended Taiwanese Dramas & Films

One of my favorite Taiwanese dramas of all time. Amazing acting all across the board. A deep and reflective plot on familial and romantic love. Yes, family and love can be found. 

This Taiwanese action drama filled with tensions between the police and the mafia and an amazing bromance will always remain in my drama memories for introducing me to Mark Chao and Vic Zhou. Also, Kingone Wang gave a striking performance as Gao Yi. 

A drama on twin sisters from a family with dark secrets. Is it possible to not 'know' your family? Great plot and acting despite the gritty cinematography.

A lovely Taiwanese drama that focuses on the main character healing after a breakup. One of the best explorations of solitude that I have seen in drama form. 

Subtle yet heartfelt. 

This Taiwanese youth drama on college students on exploring their identity is moving. Great acting and plot that features well rounded characters.

This family drama is wacky and fun. Crazy situations and characters but it never loses its heart. It feels a bit 'dorama-esque' as it was directed by a Japanese director. Chris Wu shines, as usual.

A drama that weaves in gods, environmental issues, Amis culture, and love. Lovely cinematography and OST as well. 

The best time travel/parallel dimension drama that I have ever seen. Well executed with amazing acting across the board. Complex and intricate plot. Highly recommended.

There is not a lot of dialogue in this film, and that's okay since the cinematography takes center in this beautiful and imaginative film.

This is a film that I like to rewatch every few years. It captures the energy of rural youth and features gorgeous landscapes.  One of my favorites.

Love this. Funny and quirky. Weaves between the adult scenes and the childhood of the main character in a lovely way. 

A lovely Taiwanese drama that focuses on rural life, family and community. The main lead moves back to his hometown to run his grandfather's grocery store. In the process, he develops friendships and romance, in addition to purpose. 

I really appreciate the 'Taiwanese' flavors that this drama evokes.
