The plot kinda sucks (all over the place/the "harsh school" isn't really harsh at all), but if you dont really get invested in it and just the main two guys (Akk & Ayan) it's pretty good...

The characters are morally ambiguous, obviously flawed and very well portrayed. Even considering the circumstances, I could relate to how the characters were feeling and felt bad for every characters. Even the ''girl rival'', which is usually a bland, useless caricature in ''BL shows'' was well written and I felt sorry for her.

Fun action stuff, medical pathology and three dimensional characters actually with motives beyond ''make drama because it's the third act and we have nothing''.

Half a guilty pleasure? But the characters are very well acted.
Lots of show not tell behavioural/facial expression cues.  Pretty slow paced.
Really liked the side characters's tales (Bao Luo Yin's dad, auntie, etc).
One scene I hated, everything else was well done imo.

Didn't read the manhwa so cant compare. It's nice show. Its more slice of life/coming of age story, with two main couples. Very slow paced kind with many sub stories.
People complain about the straight romance and say the show is "straight washed" but riding off the BL label. Right. Normal human behaviour from the Interwebs.
