There’s Something Going Wrong Around Here!

Different degrees of Second Lead Syndrome in Drama-Land. Some old, some new, all of us blue. 

The ML is chosen for his outstanding qualities and appearance. But lordy, that man is f*l*a*w*e*d! Enter the second lead or the guy that deserved the girl. He trumps the ML in spades. Equally handsome, treats the FL with respect, much nicer, kinder and giving of himself and his time.  Not emotionally constipated, he has little difficulty confessing his feelings.  Has a standard issue conscience. And he usually has a nicer car. But he gets friend-zoned in a hurry. Why? Because destiny trumps all that! So FL must like ML. But don’t despair too, too much. Second Leads become First Leads - eventually.
