GLs that I watched and liked... (part1)

I absolutely adored this series!!

Honestly, one of the biggest surprises for me was how much I enjoyed it. Considering it's a MeMindY production, I went in with cautious expectations because let's be real... MAME's projects can be very hit-or-miss for me... But Love Beyond Dreams ended up being one of the hits.

What impressed me most was how well-balanced the story felt. The romance, the emotional moments, and the fantasy elements all blended together naturally, creating a narrative that was easy to become invested in.

The chemistry between the leads was wonderful, and that made a huge difference. Their relationship felt believable, emotional, and easy to root for from beginning to end.

The visuals, the setting, and the overall tone helped create an immersive experience that pulled me in much more than I expected. Time travel plot it's love or hate for me, and I really loved this one.

Is it a perfect series? No. But it knows what kind of story it wants to tell and executes it well. The pacing is solid, the emotional beats land when they need to, and the romance remains the heart of the story throughout the entire journey.

This one is proving that every now and then MAME decides to remind us she can actually cook.

I picked this one up with ZERO expectations, literally just because it popped up on Netflix while I was having insomnia and had nothing else to watch TT And judging by the synopsis, I really thought it was going to be pretty basic… I WAS SO WRONG.

I absolutely loved the whole fantasy concept with time travel and glimpses of the future. The plot was actually so good, and the plot twists got me several times because the story keeps revealing new things and making you rethink what you thought was going to happen.

Maaaaaaybe the biggest problem was the development. There was SO much going on that I think the story ended up losing itself a little. Some things felt rushed, other things were left unexplained, and there were quite a few loose ends by the end. It felt like the writers had way more ideas than they had time to properly develop...

But honestly, despite that, I really enjoyed it. The overall story was still really well put together, the fantasy worked beautifully, and I ended up way more invested than I ever expected to be.

Hmmm... I expected more...

I really wanted to love this one... I’ve been following Chanya since Love Sea, so I was actually pretty excited for a GL with her, but honestly… I didn’t like it nearly as much as I expected to.

The plot was SO exhausting to me. I’m actually glad it was only 7 episodes because I don’t know if I could’ve survived a longer version of this story. And out of all the AI/robot plots I’ve watched, this was probably my least favorite — which is saying something because I LOVE a questionable robot romance. Eternal Butler and Anti Reset are literally proof of that.

I think what worked better for me in those stories was the fact that the robots had their own personalities and purpose since day one. Ever 4 and Ever 9 were created, given their own personalities, and that was it. But with Ai, Irene created her, watched basically everything she did, and even "edited" certain things about her personality and purpose. So for a huge part of the story, I never really felt like Ai was 100% Ai, and I think that made it harder for me to connect with her as a character.

The concept had HUGE potential, but the plot itself just didn’t grab me. There were definitely interesting ideas here, but the execution left me wanting a LOT more.

Also… I’m just gonna say it: I was rooting for Irene the entire time. Sorry not sorry!!! I could explain, but that's what I think.

It's not bad tho, just really not my favorite. The concept had potential, but the story felt tiring and the whole “AI personality” aspect didn’t work for me as well as it did in other robot romances. Chanya was great, though, and honestly she was definitely the biggest reason I stayed until the end.
