  • My Lovely Sam Soon

    1. My Lovely Sam Soon

    Korean Drama - 2005, 16 episodes

    10

The gold standard of rom-coms. If someone asked me to define what a romantic comedy should be, I'd point them to My Lovely Sam Soon. The set pieces are iconic, the chemistry is electric, and the comedy remains laugh-out-loud funny decades later. I was genuinely crying with laughter at points. So many rom-coms have borrowed from this drama, but very few have matched its balance of romance, heart, and absolute hilarity.

  • Boys over Flowers

    2. Boys over Flowers

    Japanese Drama - 2005, 9 episodes

    10

The funniest adaptation of Boys Over Flowers by far. The female lead is absolutely hilarious, and the male lead's particular brand of cluelessness creates some of the funniest moments in the franchise.

  • Dream High

    3. Dream High

    Korean Drama - 2011, 16 episodes

    10

I almost didn't include Dream High because I don't actually think it's a comedy. To me, it's more of a slice-of-life drama disguised as a musical. But the adults, teachers, and supporting cast bring so much warmth and humor that it earns its place.

  • My Love from the Star

    4. My Love from the Star

    Korean Drama - 2013, 21 episodes

    10

Another rom-com gold standard. The romance is iconic, but the comedy is often overlooked. The dynamic between the leads is genuinely hilarious, and upon rewatch, you realize just how funny they both are.

  • Boys over Flowers Season 2

    5. Boys over Flowers Season 2

    Japanese Drama - 2007, 11 episodes

    10

Like its predecessor, this is incredibly funny, but I'd argue it's the more romantic installment. The dramatic set pieces are so over-the-top that they become unintentionally hilarious at times. If you know, you know.

  • Something about 1 Percent

    6. Something about 1 Percent

    Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

    9.5

Possibly the cutest drama I've ever watched. It's sweet, charming, and almost impossible to fault. The male lead is surprisingly funny, the chemistry is fantastic, and the entire drama feels like a warm hug. Near-perfect execution.

  • Mr. Queen

    7. Mr. Queen

    Korean Drama - 2020, 20 episodes

    9.0

One of the funniest dramas ever made. The only real competition it has on this list is My Lovely Sam Soon. The comedy is relentless, the romance is wonderful, and even the supporting cast gets some incredible comedic moments

  • Queen and I

    8. Queen and I

    Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes

    9.0

A gorgeous drama that combines humor, romance, and fantasy almost flawlessly. The leads are both charming and funny, and the romance is so effortlessly sweet

  • Princess Hours

    9. Princess Hours

    Korean Drama - 2006, 24 episodes

    9.0

An underrated classic. I rarely see people wax lyrical about Princess Hours the way they do other iconic rom-coms, but it's absolutely deserving of that status. The palace setting, the awkward young royals, and the sheer ridiculousness of some of the situations create comedy gold while still delivering a compelling romance.

  • Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo

    10. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo

    Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

    9.0

Everybody is funny in this drama. He is funny, she is funny, and together they're even funnier. It's approachable, warm, and packed with lovable characters. Even when it tackles heavier themes, it never loses its sense of humor.

  • My Secret Terrius

    11. My Secret Terrius

    Korean Drama - 2018, 32 episodes

    9.0

One of the warmest comfort dramas around. The chemistry is fantastic, the characters are lovable, and the humor feels effortless.

  • What's Wrong with Secretary Kim

    12. What's Wrong with Secretary Kim

    Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes

An iconic rom-com that helped define a generation of chaebol CEO dramas. The male lead is one of the funniest CEOs in K-drama history. His jealousy scenes alone deserve their own award.

    Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes

    8.0
  • Oh My Venus

    14. Oh My Venus

A romantic comedy with an inherently funny premise. The romance develops in such a charming way that you can't help but smile throughout. Equal parts cute and hilarious.

  • A Gentleman's Dignity

    15. A Gentleman's Dignity

Think F4 all grown up. The humor is witty, playful, and occasionally a little cheeky. The friendship between the men is one of the drama's biggest strengths, and their antics remain hilarious years later.

  • Boys over Flowers

    16. Boys over Flowers

    Korean Drama - 2009, 25 episodes

    7.5

Look, upon reflection, this is not a particularly good drama. But is it funny? Absolutely. The extra fashion, the amnesia plot, the melodrama, the swimming pool scenes—it's all so unintentionally hilarious,it is endlessly entertaining.

  • The Secret Life of My Secretary

    17. The Secret Life of My Secretary

    Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes

    7.5

A solid rom-com elevated by one of the funniest alter egos ever created: Veronica Park. Every time she appears on screen, she steals the entire show.

  • The Master's Sun

    18. The Master's Sun

    Korean Drama - 2013, 17 episodes

The ghost stories may be spooky, but they're also surprisingly funny. The drama balances horror, romance, and comedy remarkably well.

  • Business Proposal

    6.5

Cute, charming, and a modern rom-com heavyweight. Everybody understands the assignment here. The comedy lands, the chemistry works, and the entire cast is incredibly likable.
