1. Blue Period
Japanese Movie - 2024
whatever it is that drives me to pick up the live action adaptation first of all versions of a story when i make it a poINT to always see the original material first so that i can experience the story the way it was intended (by the creator)—id like a name for it.
but anyway—this wasn't a bad movie! i do think that a movie format for any written media that's long-running will always have to sacrifice this and that to make it within the 2hr limit but eh. i dont think that like, rlly took away the core message of the movie and the mc, yatora's, growth through the lens of art. it does make the characters around him more so supporting tools than real characters w their own stories; they did try to give as much time as possible to fumiya's yuka but its true that they dont have the means to fully develop yuka onscreen. nvm mori and that limp hair meanie from the prep school.
i think every adaptation of a story deserves to be appreciated as its own media (i.e., movies are different to shows are different to books are different to comics are different to animation, etc. etc. etc.) and whether you like one more than the other is a personal opinion so with that said, i liked it! i thought it was fun and easy and even tho it didn't feel enough/fleshed out, it was still emotional and thought-provoking. honESTLy i feel like a lot of that also has to do w gordon maeda's performance here. his bored expressions have captivated me (genuine). found myself rooting for this guy and loved seeing his improvement. as a fellow art lover, this was just a joy to see regardless.
fumiya is also very very pretty. a part of me wishes the character's lives were a bit more intertwined so the character dynamics and relationships felt a bit stronger and more emotional when they come together or grow together but it was nice to see yatora and yuka form a friendship through their shared love of art (and how mori's art inspired yatora to find his own).

2. Battle of Marriage
Hong Kong Drama - 2024, 20 episodes
sick to my stomach the mental gymnastics i went thru trying to parse what the FUCK the agenda was driving this drama could be an olympic sport JUST for it to be the most unoriginal, boring, lacklustre, reductive Attempt at feminism i have ever seen in my life LMFAO. tell me, what new inspired fresh point does this bring to the discussion? don't give up your life just to tend to your husband and kids? dont fight other women for men? as a woman you should love yourself?? as a woman you should have your own thots and opinions and dreams and ambitions?? if this drama was a search engine it'll be internet explorer.
ik feminism may be at an all time low and ppl Surely are flooring it backwards but these are things that have already been said and done thru countless of mediums for YEARS and this drama just felt like a cheap (and awful) regurgitation of those sentiments that doesnt actually provide any new or nuanced perspectives. yeah, ik there are subgrps of women who might be hearing them for the first time but this drama is NOT the model for that LMAO like ok woman is betrayed by her husband and gains the courage to rebuild her career and live her own life, where did she get that courage from? aNOTHER MAN TELLING HER. DONT MAKE ME LAUGH.
paired w the slapstick comedy and the story just comes across disingenuous and unserious. them trying to be meta w the swapped roles felt like a poor attempt at self-awareness and just came across as contrived and corny. and to be very honest this felt like cheating apologism for 15 eps and anti-divorce propaganda for the last 5. the resolution being jinny and winki finding new men like? must a woman always need a man to be realised. jeez.
this being unintentional commentary on male celebs who build their image around loving their wives to appeal to the female crowd when they're actually misogynistic cheating scumbags is ironically funny.
do NOT get me started on the frankly pointless n pathetic use of ai that added nothing to the story.

3. The Double
Chinese Drama - 2024, 40 episodes
1. "xue fangfei is the most talented woman in the capital" yES SHE FUCKING IS!!! ik that noggin of hers runs on twice the speed of the average person, who is raw dogging two revenge plots and dismantling a massive rebellion brewing for almost a decade like her??? that's my fc!! when she was not onscreen i lose 70% of my ability to concentrate. wu jinyan is a phenomenal actress she didn't eat she Gobbled, she has one of the most captivating eyes ive ever seen.
2. i love every one of xff's monologues, esp the ones with syr where her barbs are so thinly veiled she might as well as tell him outright she was his wife. just the way she uses his betrayal against him, baiting him into succumbing to her bc she knows he is Guilty. their scenes are brilliant bc all those wretched emotions between them had to be disguised behind formal pleasantries but their Eyes... their rls is sooo well-written.
3. another thing this show did well was make its bg characters rlly likeable like the annual exam team and the ye family. even zhao qi(?) the guy they tried to sic jiang li onto to marry her off became weirdly endearing siding w xff to con her ex LOL.
4. everyone in here is just Really good at acting, even side charas were Performing. jiang yuanbai was a shit dad but he is an excellent crier.
5. princess wanning was so incredibly chaotic and outlandish and makes Such an excellent villain. i found myself disliking her but was super invested in her at the same time. i love how she (literally) dances on ppl's misery she's so full of joy and whimsy and So unapologetic. it is so hard being a woman, i would've done the same. her and xff would've been so powerful, we could've had toxic yuri !!
5. two fav scenes off top: (1) the guqin scene, i cried, and (2) the drum scene. i love the theme of family and community and sisterhood in this show. i love family.
6. killing off two fan favs in the last ten mins of the show was diabolical that was so random lmfao.

4. Kamen Rider Amazons
Japanese Drama - 2016, 13 episodes
so walking into this with zero know or understanding of the kamen rider franchise was a Choice and certainly an experience but . well.
i had fun LMAO. like the cgi and the 2 stagnant camera angles and zero fucking visibility, what the hell sure i guess! it was short and concise enough that i didnt have time to get Bored but 90% of the show is just fighting anyway. i did find the last couple of battles anticlimactic as hell tho esp the one between haruka and jin, respectfully nobody gaf. and this seems to be a unanimous thing but i was mostly invested in the extermination team and their shenanigans, when it cut to other perspectives i found my attention waning. mamoru was the glue that held them together so understandably they were gonna fuck him over eventually and i eat it up Every Time—misaki stopping fuku from shooting mamoru when he just lost a whOle arm and the team getting back together again simply bc they wanted to find mamoru and bring him home. exquisite!! thank you!!!
i did think it was funny when haruka and jin were brawling and the team was like "who tf do we back up" but as soon as jin rounded on mamoru they Locked The Fuck In D: haruka is part of the team too the favouritism is insane. idk why shido keeps arguing w haruka over their moral philosophies when they literally have the same idea?? both align with keEPING MAMORU SAFE. like ok haruka's range is wider but the team's double standard is just hypocritical, if u think mamoru deserves to live bc hes never eaten anyone (and he Has, now lol) then its the same w haruka's agenda about non-maneating amazons (except he was completely chill w the cannibal restaurant members so...ESH lol)
jin on the other hand has the clearest motive but its a bullshit one so i've elected to ignore it. i find the moral conundrums in this show kinda silly anyway bc the writing is clunky but for its Obvious budget i can understand.
not sure i enjoy the robotic looks of these amazons tho arent they supposed to be bugs?
-
5. Kamen Rider Amazons Season 2
Japanese Drama - 2017, 13 episodes
unironically balls-deep in the tumblr trenches of kr amazons just to get a scrap of additional content,,
unfortunately i am one with the gp where i hold zero affections nor interest in chihiro and iyu so every time the story panned back to them it was a Chore to get thru. i audibly groaned every time. louder when JIN popped up. still hate that man but he was just Exhausting to watch here w all the fumbling and grumbling. the new cast, while adding a new layer to the Big Moral Conundrum, were personally boring and unlikeable or just had nothing to do (nagase). im not a big fan of chihiro either but kurosaki takes the cake for guy who elicited the most eye-rolls this season. and Jin is Right there.
im sorry but am i supposed to be on the humans' side?? amazons are inherently carnivores and they derive the most nutrition from humans. yeah mamoru's plan is bioterrorism if you're a human, to him he's just fighting to suRVIVE. eating is surviving, its not a choice. this whole thing is a war for survival, the only reason why it's a moral conundrum is bc amazons Look like humans and have empathy towards them whereas humans ironically Do Not. over and over we see amazons generalised and dehumanised and vilified—yet in s1, a whole ass serial killer was given mercy just bc he was Human. in what way except biological? im not saying humans were wrong for retaliating—but after creating and weaponising and using amazons for their own gain the callousness w which they treat the amazons is honestly disgusting.
anyway. the real tragedy is mamoru and the exterm team. this was the only rls formed btwn amazon and human that remained 'untainted' until the end—they loved mamoru So much. shido telling him they couldn't let him go even after realising they couldn't help him anymore?? fuku tearfully admitting they shouldn't have abandoned him after having to kill his own mother BC of mamoru's actions?? the charred coin being the only thing left of mamoru? HELLO?? immaculate work.

6. Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai VS Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko
Japanese Special - 2021, 1 episode
okay yuri version next.
no bc why is everyone and their mothers in this show helppp every five mins i was like ariana????? yall are rlly lucky being gay for pay im out here gay for free smfh. also they actually kiss in here??? granted they're vanilla ass kisses but im so used to the silly quivering eyes, one-armed bro-hugs, and barely brushed hands that when i saw the lIP LOCKING i was like wow who would have thought. girls next.
anyway this was fun ngl if i was mob id be scared too, wdym lesbians dont exist.
-
7. Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai VS Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko 2
Japanese Special - 2022, 1 episode
respectfully i do not care about mob's love interest like i dont even remember his name i think they should add more men to the ayato harem instead bc that shit is funny as fuck why is everyone in love w him.
anyway i cant believe ryouta cheated on toma what the fuck man???????? HE COOKS FOR YOU.
-
8. Idol Shikkaku
Japanese Drama - 2024, 12 episodes
i decided to sit on this for a few days before writing anything bc it was such an abrupt finale and also bc i was hustling my ass off but maybe that was a bad idea bc now i dont remember anything lol.
huge fan of jdrama conciseness its so easy to watch and take in and takes like 2 business days to finish, truly avoids burnout and the phenomenon of forgetting ur watching somn and then never visiting it again BUT i do think that largely limits the depiction of the story bc this felt choppy (again, sorry lol) and kinda vague? idk like i feel like character monologues or motivations(?) could be clearer? theres a lot of things unsaid and while thats ok given that the running time is so short it feels like there are missing scenes. even the dialogue felt sparse and quiet and empty? dont get me wrong i had fun but the drama can feel a little shallow so the rls and overall story doesnt leave much of an impression unfortunately.
the actors did a good job tho. yamamika's portrayal of mimika is subtle and quiet but i could feel her exhaustion thru the screen. she's quite natural for such a green actress. kobaryo is pleasantly good at portraying a socially awkward depressed pathetic nerd and its safe to say he has quite the range. keita and mimika are pre cute for how fast their rls develops but it Is pretty glaring their age gap lol.
something thats been sitting w me is when mimika and keita meet for the last time and keita tells her he was only getting w her for her idol status to stroke his ego—i couldnt tell if he was being genuine or not. my first understanding of it was that he was lying so mimika would forget him and continue being an idol and it seemed that way as their convo continues but a part of me is also like, is he also admitting an ugly truth to his affections bc he has his own problems? guess we'll never know. but they do seem to love each other a lot and i am sad that they dont get to be w each other more.

9. Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai VS Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko 2: Behind the Scenes
Japanese Special - 2022, 1 episode
why did i never clock that mob was wearing a wig this whole time

10. 30-sai made Dotei Da to Mahotsukai ni Nareru rashii
Japanese Drama - 2020, 12 episodes
i have to admit this wasnt rlly working on me in the beginning but as i kept watching im afraid it ate the house down boots houston texas and i say that w my entire chest. they're cute!!! sorry akaso eiji for doubting you LOL its honestly so funny (to me) watching 80% of this, pausing to do other things, forgetting i was watching this, losing the motivation to watch this, watching kamen rider amazons, seeing him play a silly reckless teen in s2 and then going back to cherry magic and seeing him play a clumsy 30yo virgin who falls in love with a man no less Thee karube from aib— like.
its less funny for machida keita bc everyone and their mothers has seen aib but hOW MANY PPL CAN SAY THEY SAW KR AMAZONS???? no less s2 the season nobody fucking likes!!! (i liked it but thats none of anyone's business). anyway i just thought that was fun and idk it rlly elevated my experience watching the last two episodes of cherry magic, which is arguably when all the cute shit happens (?)
ngl bc i saw the anime first i was shocked they had a break up era in this but i just thot it was so funny how it cut to adachi waking up in bed after the break up, he narrates that his life went back to normal and then the camera pans to the calendar anD ITS LITERALLY ONLY BEEN A DAY LMFAO DRAMATIC ASS TWINK he was acting like its been wEEKS. adachi is funny as hell. and then when kurosawa got on one knee i deadass thot they were gonna elope bc theyve only been dating for like a few months but then he whipped out two fountain pens and i was like ???? theyre made for each other, your honour.
both akaso eiji and machida keita gobbled their roles i fear i totally understand why they blew up overnight lol. machida keita genuinely looks like he is a lover of men and whether thats true or not is still a testament to his acting chops.
this is irrelevant but fujisaki looked SO cute during the fireworks scene like im obsessed w her ugh my beautiful queen.
-
11. Valentine's Day / Rokkaku
Japanese Special - 2020, 1 episode
adorable. huge fan of couples cheesing out over each other doing the most mundane things (from a strictly audience watching a tv show perspective). its the way kurosawa is super possessive of adachi bc he thinks hes a great catch lmaoo. like his first thought upon seeing the chocolate in adachi's cabinet is that someone has a crush on his bf and not that his bf wants to give him chocolates????? ?? silly man, he's such a giver. has he ever thought about receiving lol no that wasnt a euphemism this guy's love language is like gift giving and acts of service.
the kohai's perspective adds a fun layer to the story but respectfully no one cares LMAO like he literally has gay friends why is he so dense ?
-
12. Tsuge & Minato
Japanese Special - 2020, 1 episode
unfortunately i did not feel the same for this couple RIP LOL i think they're alright like i dont Not like them but i dont particularly care either like its ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ to me. i do think the casting was on point tho bc they're supposed to be an age gap couple and minato's actor Certainly has the babiest of baby faces i was shocked to find out he was 26 lol i thot he was in his early twenties; he also looks a lot like the original minato design which i was pleasantly surprised to see. its been a hot minute since i saw cherry magic the anime so i dont remember much about tsuge buT i do remember he wasnt quite as animated as LA tsuge. idk how i feel about this actor's performance; it's not Bad per se it just feels like he's the only one treating the show like a pure sitcom while everyone else is in their romcom modes LOL idk anyway he had me putting my head in my hands so many times due to SHEER embarrassment this man has NEVER chill'd out a day in his life good god. he causes a scene everywhere he goes orz ??
compared to adachi and kurosawa, this couple is a lot more touchy feely and has raunchier scenes (note: raunchy is a hyperbole in this context). that is to say i Am taking the piss out of the silly fake-out elevator kiss scene between adachi and kurosawa do they know these two are canonically married LOL gimme that kiss ive seen zettai BL, ik kisses are possible! kurosawa and adachi have only just hit kissing territory but these two have already fucked so—good for them, those scenes were actually funny as hell. i also love their cat.
this special episode was kinda forgettable to me ngl i found myself thinking i wanted to see kurosawa and adachi more RIP. somn about this couple feels a little off to me but i cant put my finger on it. but thats not to say i dont like them i just dont feel anything <3

13. Bokura no Shokutaku
Japanese Drama - 2023, 10 episodes
so i spedran the manga in two hours flat and was like i need to get my grubby hands on the physical volume but when i googled it this came up so i was like ok might as well and so here we are.
it was cute!1!!1 i think, overall, the casting was spot on, especially the aesthetics. inukai has a suspiciously good streak of blending into his manga representatives or maybe he just weirdly suits that thick-bangs-manga-do idk. he was weaponising the fuck out of those bunny teeth and fat aegyosals tho good for him good for him. throughout the show i keep thinking back on this one review on reddit that ripped inukai to shreds over his performance of yutaka and i found myself trying to see if i agreed w their sentiments or not. now that im done w the show honestly...idk LOL. i dont think he was as aWFUL as they seemed to appraise but i do think he can come off a bit unnatural(?) at times. but idk if that is like, a trait of jpnese acting that im just too new to the culture to understand but . yeah. honestly i had the same feeling about him in zettai BL where it didnt seem like he was all the way there—ok, if machida keita sits on one end of the bl acting spectrum then inukai kinda sits on the other end, thats the best way i can describe it rn. i think its a bit obvious that hes Acting isall. but im not too fussed bc i dont think it significantly impacted my experience w the show. i do think minoru's actor was more natural but he also had a more straightforward character to play so...it's nbd.
while i am definitely manga-biased despite its conciseness, i do appreciate the show fleshing out the characters, their rls, and their backstories a bit more. it gave us closure for yutaka's family situation that we dont rlly get to see in the manga n we also get to see yutaka and minoru spend more time together and actually go on a date. idk i had fun, i cheesed out, i enjoy shows w little kids flitting in the bg bc i think its so cute and cozy and homey and wholesome.
-
14. Bokura no Shokutaku Spin Off - Bokura no Kyujitsu
Japanese Special - 2023, 1 episode
gonna be real honest here kids, i was expecting this to be an adaptation of the time-skip chapter where we get to see grown up tane turns out its just the token family vacay episode?? what the hell sure i guess!
HONESTLY a big reason why i rlly like the manga is bc of the rls yutaka builds with minoru THROUGH tane. how much tane dotes on yutaka and is suuuppperr attached to him and how you could see yutaka help the ueda family just as they help him—that mutual connection and affection is most obvious through lil tane bc hes just a baby! and i just liked how you keep seeing him vie for yutaka's attention in the bg and how he clearly biases yutaka over his brother in the final chapter (who practically raised him at this point!) is just so cute and funny and he rlly makes the story for me like im a sucker for stories about child rearing for a bitch who does NOT want to child rear EVER like i want my tubes TIED but yeah i feel like tane is a very important player in the rls between minoru and yutaka too bc a big part of why minoru loved yutaka is bc yutaka loves his family as much as He loves his family. the lil actor was cute and definitely delivered but you could also like RLLY tell he was uhhhh waiting to deliver his lines lol. and his mannerisms are obviously coached i mean hes a baby it makes sense which actually kinda leads me to think perhaps an animation might've been a more rounded adaptation?? who's to say. anyway this was still cute.
what confused me is when minoru tried to ask yutaka if he was cheating on him and when he was like r u...dating...(ohata)? and yutaka was like...date...who? moTHERFUCKER ARENT YOU DATING EACH OTHER!?!@??@!? WHY ARE WE ACTING LIKE WE HAVEN'T ALREADY GOTTEN TOGETHER ?? that was so bizarre to me. like he was acting jealous in the way one would before they got to bag their crush ?? yall slept together hand in hand wdym. anyway yeah happy for the couple glad to know they are foreVER and ever!!!!
everyone go read the manga rn.

15. Kao ni Doro wo Nuru
Japanese Drama - 2024, 9 episodes
girl if you dont kill ur bf—two things:
1) not a big fan of how they framed the conflict surrounding haru. i get that nuance exists in all circumstances but i feel like the way they wrote a "sympathetic" side to his actions almost underplayed the severity of his behaviour as if im supposed to give him grace for being a narcissistic chauvinistic cuck. there are tonnes of ppl with childhood trauma and attachment issues, do you see Them going out there and abusing their partners? why are we acting like he did those things on a whim or without conscious thot as if he didnt know exactly what he's doing? him reflecting on his actions at the end when his stepbro gives him a pep talk like its something he just realised is so insane to me. and how they gave him a hopeful little wrap-up like im supposed to clap and be happy for him? idc that your mom had an affair, you saw the bullshit ur dad was giving her and expected her to STAY??? grow the fuck up. why the fuck are you trying to get me to feel bad for an abuser?? i thot he was going to kiLL her w all that crazy monologuing and rabid eyes. this is not just a Whoopsie Made An Oopsie!! its honestly frustrating how much grace the fucking characters give this man bc everything he did was Calculated Evil!!!! i hate it when they try to make you care about the feelings of oppressors or abusers like fuck them!!!!
2) miku and eve are cute but honestly i do not buy the romance lmfao. so much time was spent on trying to rein in the rabid dog that is her ex that we got barely any development for the main two's rls. eve's affections for miku almost felt like instalove and miku suddenly reciprocating his feelings at the end was . well obviously just for closure. ik they have a short running time but it does seem like they were a bit overambitious w the kind of story they wanted to tell given their limits. i do enjoy the overall message and the performances but i cant say this left much of an impact on me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
16. Yawao to Katako
Japanese Drama - 2023, 8 episodes
this was fun but i must say, it Is deeply frustrating being reminded of how brAINWASHED a patriarchal society does to a motherfucker (♀). i enjoy and appreciate the overall message of loving yourself, you are the best you, yada yada but im not sure they really moved outside the confines of "you Need a partner in order to be complete" sentiment idk. fujiko's self-deprecation thru the perspective of male attention/attraction was frustrating and sad to watch but i could see that her story is about moving awAY from that mindset. idk whether that's actually done well but i do appreciate that she grows more confident and becomes kinder to herself. but then the whole mojomaru side arc had me putting my head in my hands as its quite blatant that kiyoka was Settling, like just as long as she had anyone it was fine—if it wasnt bc that guy was also a cheater i cant say she still wouldnt be w him. even her wrap up felt like she just jumped onto the next person who showed interest in her. this desperation for a man to rid oneself of this "mojo" label and getting married and having kids still sits very much in that trad wife/trad family ideation, “everyone Should get married eventually” thing and ??? like i Do see that the characters develop and improve and grow to accept and love themselves more but im not sure that message of being "different" or "going against the grain and thats ok" is fully realised.
koyanagi adds that nuance to the "being normal" sentiment as an effeminate bi man in a conservative society which i think is nice given that if he didn't have those experiences, him helping fujiko would just come across as patronising cismale bs. i do think miura shohei did an excellent job of portraying koyanagi in a sincere manner, not coming across like a caricature or the butt of a joke. his performance was very cute and natural. i also rlly liked his story and it complements fujiko well. they make a good couple.

17. Tokimeki Bakudan
Japanese Drama - 2024, 6 episodes
as i balanced on my tailbone speedrunning this, i kept getting this nostalgic but foreboding sense of deja vu in the back of my mind before it hit me: super star academy. truly all men must start Somewhere (the dark pits of low budget narratively-nonsensical cartoonishly slapstick...shows)—xiao zhan did it, you will too kobaryo !!fighting!!
anyway. uhh. when i say this took me over 8hrs to watch i meant that with utmost sincerity, the sheer amount of times i had to pause just to take a breather bc my bones were Quaking is !! i am not easily an experiencer of secondhand embarrassment bc thats not my problem but this drama truly brought new sensations to my nervous system, knees shaking, sweat breaking, hair on end, imma recommend this to my friend—kidding i would take this to the grave. i watched the mha you're next movie like two days ago—this is actually relevant—and when i was scrolling thru letterboxd, i saw one review that said “watching this in the theatres felt like being given back ur virginity" and ykno what, that's kinda the feeling i had watching this—
no, bc if i had to describe this in one word it would be <questionmarks>. it’s giving high school imovie project (non-derogatory). what's crazier is the amount of pussy the cast was popping acting the house down—i felt like a mEAN person covering my face as they were crying screaming sobbing throwing up over the most insanely HUH?? events and i knOW thats the point buT HOW IS NO ONE LAUGHING!!! takeshi naoki and kobaryo had real tears in their eyes im dead.
if i had to nominate the most insane scene it would be when kakutani was crashing out and they started replicating the childbirth procedure. he Rlly sold that monumental experience that I started crashing out too. put this man in an omegaverse bl what are yall do—[gunshots]. the runner up is when maruno transcended his traumatic brain injury thru the power of love. see how f@ggotism can save lives. the church dk shit.
-
18. Kamen Rider Amazons - The Last Judgment
Japanese Movie - 2018
ngl i didnt plan on watching this bc mamoru already croaked so there wasnt much of the story i was personally invested enough in to be wasTING my time on a 2hr flick buT!!! i found that i was compelled for the nth time to rewatch the show so i was like might as well see how this all ends and! well. that was something.
1) 99% of this movie is a competition between haruka and jin on who could reach the Highest fuckin decibel. thanks to them, i used to think you rlly needed to put your entire pussy into the "amazon" verbal cue but s2 showed me via chihiro that you could just simply Say the fuckin word. whisper it even. lol. once again i do Nawt gaf whenever haruka and jin clash. their fights about who is right and wrong blah blah are sooo tired.
2) idk why they keep adding new charas and plot threads instead of uhhh wrapping up the old shit lmfao. mizuki and her mom still have nothing to do. all her mom ever does is stare into the distance w her bob and deranged smile. every time kurosaki is onscreen he acts like he's the coolest edgiest mfker and that is just simply not true. him and his ipad wielding sidekick think theyre sAUR nonchalant and quirky. fuku is still immaculate eye candy but i had to deduct pts for saving kurosaki let that man die istg. the chief being able to walk after what chihiro did to him??? chihiro you had one fuckin job.
3) the only good parts of this movie was seeing my extermination team <3 and how much they still miss mamoru aw. that damn coin necklace is getting tired but i eat it up every time love to see it!! i like that theyre not treating him like some throwaway chara despite being deader than dead, it shows Continuity! they're clearly still mourning him even if it’s been 2yrs
4) the amazon farm thing Is a new interesting aspect to the discourse but once again they barely fleshed it out. ik mamoru is Rolling in his grave tho.
5) jin iS FINALLY FUCKING DEAD. I LIED THATS THE OTHER GOOD THING. HALLE FUCKING LUJAH

19. Shiawase Kanako no Koroshiya Seikatsu
Japanese Drama - 2025, 6 episodes
pleasantly enough, despite the super short running time restricting pretty much any sort of meaningful and impressionable character and story writing, the comic sketchy style of the show makes it a fun easy brain food watch which is exactly what i need when im sitting down to have my meals so i ate that up (literally). i found myself laughing out loud multiple times, which isnt much of a feat given the sort of person that i am (easy), but thats always a good sign nonetheless yada yada. i am With the crowd here about the show being too short!! silly shows like this shine more when they are ongoing with 234023 eps like back in them old sitcom days so the story feels a bit more substantial. streaming has truly killed real tv lol.
anyway, technicalities aside, i am quite fond of the cast especially the main duo but the main actor has an uncanny and unpleasant resemblance to the looks of one park seojoon, who i am less fond of so that was something. fortunately, fujigaya taisuke plays sakurai with a certain weird charm that i am able to separate the artist from...the other artist. it Is pretty funny that he consistently looks like he just left squid games. and on that trail of lookalikes, there were so many angles where non looks like bae suzy too.
i first saw shiono akihisa in zettai bl so it was nice to see a familiar face again even tho he does play a perpetually unblinking assassin. i believe him when he said he loved kanako :(
a running gag i particularly enjoy is the confetti that plagues omori whenever her crush on her partner is suggested. loved the meta of her standing up and dusting it away as takehara questions her about it in the finale.
i also rlly enjoyed kanako and sakurai's friendship or whatever they have going on. its cute to see kanako being able to understand sakurai even without his verbal responses (not that hes super keen to give her any, or anyone for that matter). they're a cute pair. they suit each other.

20. Anonymous Signal
Hong Kong Drama - 2025, 30 episodes
1. technically speaking, this was better than the invisibles in terms of pacing and overall writing (the bar is Very low) but precisely bc this was just like a revamped ver of that show i doxxed the half mark lmfao. 100% of the tropes and plot lines used here are actually reminiscent of afwfw which came out in 2016!!! that means boon has NOT improved over the last decade!!! he literally only has the One idea, One cast combination, and One plot development. the only improvement here was tiffany and joel being paired with other ppl for once but that was quickly nulled bc both pairings were absolute dog shit.
2. i hate the way fc's are dressed in this mfker's shows. the way tiffany has to constantly flaunt her body is objectifying. i do admire that she is very toned and fits the aesthetic of a skilled fighter but i wonder how she feels about the nonsense of playing a chara who works in a heavily tactical field but always has to dress minimally. they did this to moon in the invisibles too. also, the girls having their hair down during all the fight scenes so they could blow wind into it is so fuckin cheesy. just like slapping eye liner, hair gel, and black attire on the chara who's revealed to be the final boss :/
3. WHY is boon so obsessed with sexual violence??? its in EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS SHOWS. and he even threw in statutory rape here for shits and gigs???
4. i predicted everything that would happen before i even started the show and thats due to Zero personal skill of my own <3
5. the rls drama was so fuckin contrived and it went on foreVER. all i got from all that was that tiffany and owen have rlly upped their crying game.
6. boring ass characters with very little development making it absolutely Impossible to become attached even if ur Trying
7. karl ting's chara is Awful here. sexist.
8. owen unintentionally killing everyone's parents is unironically funny.
9. all of the cases were just violence against women and children lol.

21. Hana Yori Dango
Japanese Drama - 2005, 9 episodes
1. looking camp straight in the eye <33
2. unironically, while No One is spared from peak mid 2000s dumpster fire fashion (/positive), hanazawa rui's look Actually Genuinely drove me most insane not only is he constantly dressed like he's terminally ill, he also constantly has to look at other characters from a 45 degree angle every time he talks to them bc he cant see SHIT through the dried remains of that MANE girl MOVE UR BANGS WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU
3. you know its bad if youre more peeved by literally any other character more than domyoji just by principle but genuinely makino's family is so annoying lmfaoo bar the fact that theyre constantly pimping her out, they're so bland as individuals that they just exist as one entity not to mention they are loud AND unfunny.
4. i can excuse pitting women against each other for the attention of men but i draw the line at that attention being domyoji's lets be SRS HIS ONLY REDEEMING QUALITY IS RICH AND STUPID AND EASY TO SCAM???
5. sakurako(?)'s actress's bulging eyes really get me <3
6. for a hotshot ceo so appallingly busy she only sees her kid once every time an australian fights a kangaroo and Wins, she sure has a lot of Damn time meddling in the affairs of TEENAGERS. if my teenage son got with a poor girl id be so proud of him mama did teach u to redistribute wealth after all
7. the bar was pre high but ultimately the TOJ shit weirded me out the most wtf does "top female hs student in jpn" even mean?? ???? free our women omg
8. so glad the dango shopkeeper decided men are better off dead and chose to pine over her deceased husband bc i was getting worried for akira (crazily enough, he and sakurako are unironically the nicest pair in the whole show lmfao)
9. many things killed me in this show but the mum calling for her private jet to stop like it was the fuckin bus killed me the most
10. if ayano studied in london why the FUCK doesnt she have an english accent smfh.
