2019 Dropped List
Dramas I dropped in 2019.
Note: Sometimes I drop dramas because I get distracted or busy, and not necessarily because I hated them. Also, I generally don't consider a drama "dropped" unless I've watched a couple of episodes, and thus given the story and characters time to unfold. So those I stopped watching after 1-2 episodes are usually not included.
**My goal this year is to stop wasting time on dramas that don't have me hooked. So if I am too often forcing myself to watch the next episode, I am just going to drop it. This year's drop list may be longer as a result, and contain more dramas that I did like, but just didn't love enough to see through to the end.**

1. Memories of the Alhambra
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
Dropped: 7/16
Another interesting idea from this writer, executed poorly. The greatest weakness with this one was definitely the characters. I never really cared a great deal for the male lead, or that all the female characters in the show were written so pointlessly. It made me feel like I was watching some American program aimed at a male audience rather than a K-Drama. The plot was a little slow and drawn out while trying to feel more exciting than it was. I enjoyed the concept and choice of setting at least. Also, I'm not even PSH's fan, but she deserved better than this drama and the hate it brought her for a character she was only hired to play, not write.
Score: 6/10 -
2. Encounter
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
Dropped: 10/16
I loved the cast and look of this drama, it was very poetic and sweet, but really should have been no longer than 12 episodes, if even that. There just wasn't enough there to keep me interested past the halfway point, and it felt like it was going to start moving in circles and dredging up unnecessary conflict for the sake of it. The characters were *so* good, though the chemistry could have been a little better. I might try again someday to finish this.

3. Angel's Last Mission: Love
Korean Drama - 2019, 32 episodes
Dropped: 15/32
Sigh...this had such a great concept and one of my favorite actresses in the lead role, what could possibly go wrong? Everything, apparently. Romance was rushed and the ML lacking. If they wanted to play the doomed/tragic lovers card, they should have given us more time to be invested in them as a couple. Fantasy aspects weren't enough to save the bad pacing. There were some other elements I didn't love but all could have been overlooked if they had not botched the most important aspect of a romance drama. Shin Hye Sun was amazing as always which only makes this even more disappointing.
