Medium Priority Modern CH | TW | HK PTW

It's 8.3 on douban but has just 8.9k raters and the major reason why I kept it in mid priority list rather than high despite the glowing douban score:

Basically, this was supposed to be about 17-24 eps long but they rushed to release it by 70th anniversary of China's entry into the Korean War, so they chopped it off heavily. There were supposed to be a lot of parts that were not included and the rest of the footage was used along with the footage of drama into the film version. Very confusing and IDK how I'll enjoy a serious show that was chopped almost 50%

So I had a hard time deciding whether to keep this in my main list or not. My reasons to keep were: it's score on douban was 6.4, which although is not good, but also is nothing bad. I usually keep shows rated about 6.2 with some hope, sometimes making exceptions for even till 5 if the subject interests me. It's MDL score is not bad as well, so a good enough score and it's central theme being that interesting, about a woman starting over after she ditches her cheating husband and rising with her friend's support. I wanted to watch so I decided to check douban for red flags.

MILD SPOILER:

Unfortunately, I found one of the biggest red flag in this show. The friendship between the 2 women get's permanently strained due to a male character. Worst of it all was that this dude leading to this strain did not exist in the original novel and both women had their own love interests. Friendship and career rebuilding stayed the central theme while romance was secondary. WORST DECISION EVER RUINED THE SHOW FOR ME!!!!!!!! Idk if I can even watch it, but I only want to try it for the hype this got.
