Good Ass Shows (not god tier tho)

God tier list is too good, literally need a list of a lower category. I took much effort to rank these, the top few are fucking good but not good enough to be god tier.

Strong female lead and a strong male lead, what more can one ask? A show where the male lead and female lead are equally OP, it's them against the world. Truly a sight to behold! Their chemistry is off the charts, romance development is slow yet fast, like a campfire burning, their romance is as hot as charcoal yet strong and steady, withstanding the winds and other elements. A truly satisfying show with a satisfying ending, I recommend everyone to watch this show written with great consideration. Truly a masterpiece!

Aside from the main lesson from the drama, that is everyone is beautiful, and the looks does not determine one's inner beauty.. (which is an amazing lesson). the two main characters development is really mature and pleasing to see. Plus i love how the male lead is indifferent to her different appearances (also due to his illness), it is a really touching and beautiful drama to watch. The romance is great and the storyline is good too!

"what the f*ck" was my immediate comments when I finished watching the last episode. Not to be misunderstood as the show being bad, but rather the opposite. The romance in this show is not much, but strong and unwavering. The plot focuses on this young man who is smart and analytical. Also he is fucking EXTRA, i love it (in a good way of course). The pacing of this show is excellent, the best out of most chinese historical dramas, the show does not feel too fast or too laggy at any point. The plot is simple to understand yet complex at the same time. There are also sufficient focus on side characters and it is interesting to see how their characters develop and are revealed to the audience. There are many political drama between characters as you would expect, and much more. The "villains", I could only describe as "spine-shivering scary". Wow, truly a beautifully (i would say ironically) written characters. I have much praise for this show as one may already see. It is mind-boggling good. Why is it so good? Why? I'm patiently waiting for the second season, what more can this show offer?

A drama similar to WWW, but better. It features an independent fashion designer and a CEO of a fashion cooperation. Their relationship is mature and relatable (to adults ofc). I love myself a good adult romance. Their relationship did not come by easy, and it teaches one that no matter how good your chemistry is, and your love for your significant other, a relationship requires dedication and effort. I love the fact that they are both very independent individuals, and it may also seem like it may not be a good match between them because they are both alphas male/female, but honestly is so amazing to see how their relationship progresses, and the way they are able to understand and comprimise. To me it serves as an ideal for my future relationships and also i think it applies to our current society, where the female is no longer weak and in need of help, and are independent and equal from their male counterpart. The part i love about them both is how straightforward they are, and also their confidence on themselves, they are clearly mature adult and take no bs from others. they have their own values and are not afraid to stick to them. love it so much, definitely a OTP. Not to mention, this show has the best supporting characters plot as well, futuring the two side couples, their relationship could even be a seperate drama! it is that good. Both relationship have struggles that many can relate to, and its nice to see them get over it tgt, as friends and as lovers. I love the relationships between every character so much!! Lastly, the whole plot and arcs are amazingly written, its not sth u would expect to see in a drama. Its definitely realistic (to a certain extent ofc) and not idealistic like most dramas. The solutions that characters take are definitely relatable and tough to take but i love to see how they came to the solutions. I really think this is a drama many should watch and enjoy. Its mature and romantic! my favourite. Cheers.

One of the rare few shows that literally gave me chills watching. I love the tension and atmosphere of the show, if you watch it you will understand what I am saying.  To describe it to people that have not watch the show, its like i'm placed in this dark, dark world, the main characters are very relatable, so relatable i could even feel their emotions. A commendable effort by the actors. A very serious, mystery drama (would be a good description to avoid any spoilers). Every episode leaves me at the end of my seat, anticipating the next, every episode shocked me with its twists and turns, and every episode left me thinking of the next twist. Yet, every time, the show leaves me shocked and pulls out something i did not expect. Perhaps i am not analytical nor smart enough to figure out the plot twists... But not knowing, and guessing wrong is part of the fun. Truly a show not to be missed if you like psychological, thriller, mystery shows. *chefs kiss*

  • Our Beloved Summer

    Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes

Don't get me wrong, this drama is good, but i struggle trying to put it really high on the list because of several reasons. Lets however mention the pros first. First of all, amazing directing, editing, post-production, osts, just in general it is a cinematic masterpiece. The show really tried to stand out, and it did. It focused alot on individual characters which i think is very well executed, with most of the characters going through their own struggles and showing how they help one another. They are having different struggles, but they are in it together (life i guess). It is i suppose a slice of life show, it shows how these high schools kids fell in love, got together, broke up, ten years later, met and felt pain, longing, etc. It shows us the journey of our two characters, broken but pretending like they are not. Their chemistry is insane, their acting is seriously too good. The way the actors are able to portray the naunces of having been broken up, and getting heartbroken, and meeting their exes again, is so good. Its the unspoken words, its the body language, etc. Prepare to cry your heart out for it is a beautifully written piece, personally, i gave me alot of comfort and hope. Next up, the cons. The cons aren't actually that bad, its just, it feel like its a drama where some people get it, and some don't. If you like romcom, this aint it. If you like more mature stories (that at the same time is not that mature because it really doesnt focus on more serious topics), than you might like this. Lastly, as i mentioned, the show focuses alot on other characters, a double-edged sword really, some people might get bored/not interested, and think it is just taking more screentime. I get it, i do, i do think i care less about some characters than others. So yeah, just a heads up. In sum, this drama is great, do watch it because it gives some interesting insights. And i do like a good old exes to lovers plot, dont see good ones nowadays. peace :D

  • Mr. Queen

    8. Mr. Queen

    Korean Drama - 2020, 20 episodes

    9.5

Damn, a drama that breaks all the historical drama, female lead stereotypes that you have ever seen. Best male in female body execution i have seen in my entire life. There was no unnecessary comments that they made and everything was pretty realistic (for a drama). Also, as i fancy dramas that does not necessarily have the male lead and female lead falling in love at first sight, this was perfect. It was a slow burn (but also not really), and nice development of feelings. One of the best i have seen in dramas tbh, the leads get to know each other first, then developed feelings. Romance aside, the side characters was written really well as well, especially the "evil second female lead", she was so well written, it was frustrating, she was relatable, and her actions make sense relating to her. Her actions was reasonable under her circumstances, and i love this kind of grey characters. There were other characters that was written well as well, for comedic sakes, and plots sake. As a whole, this drama was so refreshing and addicting. It was very inspiring. What a great drama. I cannot end this without complementing the female actress of course. Her acting was so perfect. She is acting two characters, under the same face, but one can definitely tell they are different. Her emotions was so real, it hurts. Lastly (for real), we love to see two king and queen(or king) fight together against the world, and it was one of those kinds of shows, super satisfying to watch. The drama is not perfect, it has plot holes and characters could have been written better, but it is good enough. More than enough actually. Defnitely worth a watch for everyone.

I have rewatched this drama in its entirety 3 times. haha. The best selling point of this drama is definitely the plot. The plot development is fast pace and very interesting. You would want to watch the whole drama in one setting! Absoutely love the male lead, rich CEO, amazingly talented, what more can you ask for? Also the female lead is just as amazing, a doctor and a very independent individual, just what i love. Amazing and unique plot, i don't have much to say, it is a ride, and i hope you experience it for yourself!

damn. Deep and provoking. Absolutely love it. It shows life of the korean elites, its family and their children, and especially on the education system. For a lack of a better word, it would describe it as "shocking". It makes one question the society, esp the education system and how competitive it is, how the rich are willing to spend millions on private tutoring, ofc the elitism of society is shown. Their lifestyles are drastically different and unrelatable to most. But it is really interesting to watch and ponder about society issues. Abeit unbelievable, i think we could relate to a certain extent to the students studying their life away to get to the top universities and the pressures they face from society and their parents. It is a really saddening drama. A deep and not easy to digest drama, but definitely recommend you to watch.

Ancient Love Poetry is a drama that i have wished for to exist. And here it is, the angst, the seperations, love that spans over thousands of years, yearning, sadness, sacrifice, destiny, etc. This is how it is like for Gods to love each other. Their love so selfless, we can't even comprehend it, nor even sympathise what they went through. It is the "right person, not enough time" trope executed to close perfection. Just thinking about what Bai Jue went through for Shang Gu im weak, the poor soul went through so much :'(... Beautiful xianxia, worth a watch and prepare some tissues in advance.

Probably the most hyped show of 2021 (maybe behind squid game). Well, in my opinion, it deserved it, but (big but), it did't show me something amazing. It is unique (in a sense that no two dramas can be identical..), but that is giving it some slack. The plot.. it extremely meh. Not bland, not lacking, just not the best. Okay, it may seem like im giving this show alot of dirt, but it is geniunely a good show, on its own (AKA no comparisons to other dramas on this list). The chemistry, the small actions of the leads, is so cute and adorable. I think they tried to be realistic in terms of the relationship and characters, but Chief Hong is too perfect, that i ain't letting the realistic element pass. Yes, there is emotional trauma to justify him being so nice, but meh, im not buying it (it is probably just for plot relevance and progession). The relationships (both main and second, and actually 3rd, 4th.. theres alot of couples, maybe the whole cast) are so well done. I can tell this show is not focused on the two leads, but actually different characters. If someone were to do screentime comparison, i think the leads might surpass the other characters by a little. Screentime is quite balanced. Every character have a background, conflict and resolution, yknow basic drama stuff. If i were to compare it Vincenzo, it is similar in terms of the drama revolving around a community of people with different stories. Definitely recommend to watch this for a GOOD time, its so relaxing and wholesome it should be illegal. But, don't expect godtier level shit for the amount of hype and popularity it has.

A really good drama to binge watch (because its relatively short), and that is also why this drama didn't make it very high in the list. (very fast paced drama but relatively simple plot) But dont get me wrong, it is indeed a good drama. The fighting scenes are literally the best i have seen for kdrama standards, and it could even be movie production standards tbvh. I LOVE the cast, especially Han Soo Hee and Park Hee Soon, holy shit their roles are so amazing and they did so well. (although they are not the romantic leads) their chemistry is INSANE holy. Another thing is the ending, its a love-hate relationship. It is a decent ending, im just mourning (ahem no spoilers??.. ) ;')

This show... was different. It is one of the few kdramas that try to potray realistic relationships, except this is specifically about toxic relationships. Firstly, lets talk about the side characters because the main relationship is heavy to digest. The potrayal of wlw (women love women) relationship is done well, not perfect, but a good improvement from other lgbtq couples seen in other dramas. It does have a cliche plot, and it might seem rushed, but me and other viewers can forgive it because they tried, and they succeeded. Okay, the the main leads. JE, the male lead was a guy that is not interested in an exclusive relationship, he is potrayed as being a fuckboi and low commitmental. Nothing wrong with it, may i add. He was honest about it from the very beginning towards NB, the female lead. (Many people are saying his a red flag, but personally, because he is honest, i think otherwise) And than theres NB, she just got out of a toxic relationship and she met JE in a bar, and they clicked, the chemistry was through the roof, instant attraction. And the story starts from there. Before you start the drama, keep in mind they are REALISTIC characters, that means there are imperfect, with many flaws, make bad decisions, etc. (idk why so many people get so riled up over their bad decisions, like really?? are u a saint or sth?) And i LOVE that. Who wants to watch a superhero, perfect guy, hell no. Than why is this drama so low on the list? It could have done better, but ironically thats just life aint it, imperfect and flawed. lol. U might love this drama or u might absolutely hate it. But watch it first, and make your own opinions on it. I know i will miss this drama for sure.
