Favorite Dramas
This is my list containing dramas that I love personally. For dramas with solid stories and direction, I have a separate list! Some of these aren't good from a critical standpoint. Nonetheless, I would still go back and enjoy these dramas. My rewatch rate is pretty much 0 for all dramas except for dramas on this list. P.S. All have elements of comedy inside :D and the list is not in order.

1. Gokusen
Japanese Drama - 2002, 12 episodes
Love the chemistry between the boys in the class and the teacher-student dynamic between Yamaguchi and her students. Funny and ePIc
-
2. My Father Is Strange
Korean Drama - 2017, 52 episodes
Chemistry between the couples (involving sisters) are so likeable AND different. Meaningful relationship exploration.
-
3. Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
Pretty much a perfect romcom from start till end. High rewatch value- just very cute and funny.
-
4. Eulachacha Waikiki
Korean Drama - 2018, 20 episodes
FUNNY AF
-
5. Prison Playbook
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
Hilarious. Love almost all characters.
-
6. Our Times
Taiwanese Movie - 2015
Can rewatch this over and over. Still cry at the same parts and song is legendary.
-
7. Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge
Japanese Drama - 2010, 10 episodes
It's not a critically good show nor very believable but it's from a classic anime. One of my favourites due to sentimental value and overall just really like Sawako's growth and rs with Kyohei.

8. The Fiery Priest
Korean Drama - 2019, 40 episodes
Comical genius and the one show calling me back to faith HAHA
-
9. Atashinchi no Danshi
Japanese Drama - 2009, 11 episodes
Idk why I like the show tbh. I kept rewatching scenes from it. The brothers all have very different personalities that made the show interesting.
-
10. The Romance of Tiger and Rose
Chinese Drama - 2020, 24 episodes
Squeal-worthy. CHEMISTRY.
-
11. Go Ahead
Chinese Drama - 2020, 46 episodes
Meaningful, touching, funny, cute and such an all-round good show. Except the ending's a little too rushed imo. I would still consider the end-result perfect.

12. Descendants of the Sun
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
Critically, it's not a godly show BUT so squeal-worthy. Rewatched it and still got the same eek-so-cute feelings. Chemistry is through the roof despite other flaws.
2024 update: Rewatched again. Guilty pleasure drama- super cheesy and overdramatic at times but the chemistry between the leads is just outstanding. The 2 main couples' moments are well-written and funny. However, all serious aspects of the show were pretty weak. Any scenes with Eng-speaking moments were also pretty laughable. Overall, admit I only give this show 8.5 out of pure enjoyment of all romantic comedic moments + AMAZING osts. Outside of that, it's a little too dramatic albeit very 2016.

13. Our Secret
Chinese Drama - 2021, 24 episodes
Despite skipping through the drama here and there, esp the second half, I still really really enjoyed it. The FL is so pretty and cute, while the ML gives off a boyish charm. CHEMISTRY WAS THE MAIN SELLING POINT!! The couple is so cute without being too cheesy (their personalities didn't suddenly change). Their feelings were also clear from the start, and there were no seriously annoying plots.

14. Reset
Chinese Drama - 2022, 15 episodes
Such a well-done time loop show. Usually dislike these types but this was great.
-
15. My Liberation Notes
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
Melancholic goodness. Very relatable in many aspects. A drama that makes me feel somehow "whole" and understood. From person to person. It's liberating to find a drama that seems like it speaks to you. The ending is a little open-ended but it suits the show's type of slice-of-life feel. Life goes on past the 16 eps.

16. Extraordinary Attorney Woo
Korean Drama - 2022, 16 episodes
How many shows explore autism in relation to work, romance, relationships, perception etc? Especially with a female lead. It's a funny and meaningful show with simple cases and great characters.
-
17. My Calorie Boy
Chinese Drama - 2022, 30 episodes
One of my top OTPs. Kang Jia Wei is by far most charming and funny ML among school dramas. FL ML rs is so believable and cute.
-
18. Alchemy of Souls
Korean Drama - 2022, 20 episodes
Their relationship felt like a natural buildup. The show's story itself is already very interesting and there are so many likeable characters. The ending felt tied in and properly written to fit the rest of the story. Well-thought out plot till the end. Albeit a little boring beginning half of S2.

19. When I Fly Towards You
Chinese Drama - 2023, 24 episodes
Super wholesome. Loved the main leads. No overly problematic plots. FL had the ultimate rizz.
-
20. Moving
Korean Drama - 2023, 20 episodes
Acting 10/10, Characters 10/10, Plot 10/10, Music 10/10, Cinematography 10/10. Drama focused on parental love and it's AMAZING. It gives good parts to get excited for season 2 but doesn't leave S1 incomplete at all. Satisfying enough (much more than the webtoon) :) Best drama of 2023.
