Before debuting, he was cast on the street at least 4 times but he kept refusing as the agents never told him the agency they were representing. He finally accepted an offer and then spent 6 years as a trainee at SM Entertainment (SM엔터테인먼트).
In July 2022, he was announced as one of the newest members of SM Entertainment's trainee team called SMROOKIES and there were rumors about him joining NCT.
However, he made his debut in September 2023 as RIIZE's visual, with their single album "Get a Guitar".
