- Also Known as: Kim Tae Yeong, Kim Taeyoung, Kim Taeyeong, 金泰映
- Nationality: South Korean
- Gender: Male
- Born: November 8, 1970

After graduating from college, he did not enter the K-League draft as he was convinced he was going to be selected by a newly formed team and he was against it. Instead, he opted to debut with Kookmin Bank FC, a semi-professional club, where he played for 2 seasons. When the Jeonnam Dragons announced their foundation in November 1994, he decided to play for his hometown team. He spent his entire professional career with Jeonnam from 1995 until his retirement in 2005. As a defender, he only scored 4 goals but appeared in 201 games. Internationally, he represented South Korea since 1993 and appeared in the 1998 and 2002 FIFA World Cups.
After retiring, he became an assistant coach at Kwandong University in 2006 before moving to the U-20 and U-23 national teams from 2009 until 2012. He spent many years as an assistant in several K-League clubs before taking his first head coach position at Cheonan City in 2019. He was dismissed in 2022 and opted to appear as a commentator for MBC and also in several soccer-related variety shows. In 2025, he became the head coach of Champasak Avenir FC in Laos.
