Before debuting, he was a trainee at SM Entertainment but decided to quit to study acting in college. He then decided to become an idol. He also has a black belt in taekwondo and was part of K-TIGERS (K타이거즈) for a brief time.
He made his debut in February 2021 as the group's vocalist and visual with their first EP, "History of Kingdom: Part I. Arthur".
In April 2024, GF Entertainment (GF 엔터테인먼트) announced the group rebranded as THE KINGDOM ahead of their 8th EP, "Realize".
