Jeong Jae Min is a South Korean lawyer, author, former judge, and civil servant. He graduated from Pohang Jecheol High School and later obtained a bachelor's degree in Law and a master's degree and a Ph.D. in International Law, all from Seoul National University. He passed the 42nd bar exam in 2000 and he served as a military prosecutor in the 7th Division, participating in major international negotiations such as the relocation of Yongsan Garrison.
He was appointed as a judge in 2006 and began writing books in 2009 when he published "Dokdo in the Hague" about the conflict between South Korea and Japan over Dokdo Island and has several literary awards for his novels and essays. In 2014, he was sent to the United Nations International Criminal Court and was part of the trial against former President Radovan Karadžić, who was responsible for the Bosnian civil war.
In 2017 he decided to quit being a judge and decided to become a civil servant and worked for the Defense Acquisition Program Administration. In 2020 he was appointed as judicial review officer during the administration of President Moon Jae In and later extended during the administration of President Yoon Seok Yeol.
