He made his debut in 2007 when he contributed to the song "Man's Love" for singer Zia's album "The Violin (Music Story Album)".
He then re-debuted in October 2009 as one half of the duo DECEMBER under CS Happy Entertainment with the EP "Dear My Lover". They were moderately successful, but the audience began doubting his singing abilities as he had so few parts in the duo's songs compared to DK.
In 2017, his license was revoked after he was charged with drunk driving and pretending to be his brother when questioned by the police. This incident and DK's vocal nodules resulted in the duo's disbandment in December 2018. Each signed with a different company and continued their careers as solo artists.
In 2019, he returned with an OST for the KBS drama "My Only One" and the duo decided to reunite in 2021 with the single "Love is Like Watching Stars With You". He is currently the CEO of his own label, Monster Company.
On June 30, 2023, the Incheon District Prosecutors' Office announced he was arrested and indicted on 28 charges of fraud. He borrowed as much as 2.5 billion Won (approx. 1.8 million USD) from acquaintances that included celebrities, management officials, fans, and legal professionals who were close to him. He then claimed to be using the funds for investments but disappeared without repaying the debt.
He was sentenced to 6 years in prison, but on May 29, 2024, the prosecution appealed the ruling as they considered it too lenient and wanted to increase it to 10 years. It appears the sentence was upheld at 6 years in prison.
He is banned from appearing on any of the major Korean networks, so his career appears to be over.
