In 2020, Rainbow E&M (레인보우 E&M) created Future Idol, a project intended to develop and debut idol groups across 6 Asian countries. They had an introductory event at YES24 Live Hall showcasing 9 groups scheduled to debut in 2021. However, due to undisclosed reasons, only 2 of the original 7 members of his group remained in the agency by June of that year.
He made his debut in October 2021 as NONSTOP's sub-vocalist with their first single, "Fly Away". Then, in mid-2022, they made a comeback with the single "Hope Song", but new members were added to the lineup. No new material has been released since then, and no information regarding the group has been given.
He then joined A+ Entertainment (에이플러스엔터테인먼트) and was set to re-debut as part of their new group, THE BIGDIPPER (더빅디퍼). The agency had created the group since April 2021, but by February 2022, 4 of the 7 members left and were replaced by 5 new members (including him). He was officially introduced in April 2022 (now using the stage name JM), and by September of that year, the group's name was decided. They released the pre-debut single, "Shining Star", in October 2022 and then, without further explanation, silently disbanded by early 2023 without having officially debuted.
He participated in the reality show "Fantasy Boys" but was eliminated in the 10th episode. After the show, he joined 3 other contestants and formed the project group MY BOYZ (마이보이즈) and performed in several showcases in Japan during late 2023 and early 2024.
